Rusyn

Tried to cover multiple scenarios but ended up covering none. Was signed when we didn’t know if Clarke would go or Stewart would stay. Probably would have fared better if playing wide left off LND. But ultimately was a dice roll that didn’t land. Also he seemed quite isolated from the squad, which when added to the challenges of the war and impact on his family can’t have helped him settle.

Could have sworn LND had already gone?

In all honesty, I can't remember him having much game time at all to form a good enough opinion.

I'm sure the gaffer at the time wasn't happy with the options he'd been given upfront, and players like Rusyn rarely got a game. In turn, he looked disconnected and a bit of an outsider from the group.

As others have said, it was a punt that didn't work out. Nothing against the lad, and I hope he does well.

We will always have Boro away.

As someone mentioned, he never ever looked happy off the pitch as well as on it.

Seen him at the end of season awards and poor lad just looked lost and wasn’t integrating with the squad. Always looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Don’t think the war help him much, couldn’t of been easy for him.

Memory playing tricks a bit on me. Both deals happened on transfer deadline day, but we'd been overtly chasing him all summer so that's likely why I had that impression. There's also a bit of Speakers' addiction to tweener wide/central forwards mixed in there. We had a succession of them come through the door during his tenure and were linked to double again (eg Frigan, Abline).

Didnt half get the raw end of the deal on those three.

Lad who helps in our garden is the spit of Rusyn.
I get an unwelcome reminder once a fortnight in the summer. At least he does something useful (a lot actually).
