Slot sacked.

Agree it is a risk
Remember when Mike Walker (very successful at Norwich ) was poached to work at Everton and was dismal as per Frank at Spurs
In Iraolas favour he has now had 2 successful manager jobs.. he’s far from a one off
Big job at LFC mind
Konate off and VvD fading fast so à new CB pairing obviously needed and fast
They have talent in midfield but no one holding it together. They need their own version of Xhaka
Reckon you lot should be getting shot of Moyes
Going nowhere fast
Defensively you look too slow imo
3 CB’s in a back 4 is Pulis stuff
fair points, well made mate 👍

Slot is no different to Klopp. Under Klopp they would have a great season and drop off quite considerably the year after. The one year they won the league (Slot already matched that achievement) they were 30 points worse if the season after.

Klopp won 2 League Cups, 1 FA Cup, 1 CL, and 1 League in 9 years. Slot would have been close to matching that if he stayed 9 seasons.

If you think there's no difference between Slot and Klopp then your football knowledge needs to be questioned.

like all managers can get a bit silly when things don’t go their way.
Not our manager tbf.

The game at the sol was a cracker, proper end to end stuff but your players completely lost their heads in the 2nd half, not helped by Iraola losing his on the sidelines. If this was a one off fair enough but in the return it felt like there were genuine intentions to hurt our players from the outset. Xhaka in particular came in for some quite brutal treatment. We needed some protection from the ref but it was Jarred f***ing Gillet so that was never going to happen.
Like I say it's 2 games in a 38 game season so perhaps there's just something about the unflappable Le Bris that really winds Iraola up I don't know but I wasn't impressed with his or his teams behaviour.

Style of play. Man management. Motivation. Not to mention, just look at how the players reacted to Klopp leaving compared to Slot.
Finishing 30 points of last seasons total suggest a lack of motivation under Klopp as well. Every manager has callings out, Henderson and Mane left after falling out with Klopp.

Everything was great with Salah when he scored 30 odds goals last season, there was no issue with Slot. Once his legs went around March/April last year, he started blaming everyone else but himself.

I think the drop off with Klopp may have been due to being burnt out rather than a lack of motivation. It's day and night between the two managers. You only have to ask the Liverpool fans. After all, they know their club better than anybody.

Modern day football where you can win a league one year but sacked the next

Games gone
Which is an attitude that illustrates why SAFC have been crap since WW2.
Should go for Emery if they had any sense.

Not sure he's a manager for a team expected to be top 3
Emery and Alonso want to be managers.
Liverpool want a HC or rather Liverpools DOF and HOR want a HC. The DOF appointed Ariola at Bournemouth so this will be two favours he owes him.

Slot’s sacking will trigger a bit of a ‘merry-go-round’ and what concerns me is the RC Lens coach being wanted by a number of clubs, including Crystal Palace. I think that’s the sort of club (RCL) that might come after RLB.

You'd be daft to manage in the French League over a Prem side (unless it was one of the big hitters, which Lens are not).

PS - that's not to discredit their achievements this season.

I don’t believe RLB has done enough yet to warrant being poached by a big club
Many will wait to see if he can continue the trajectory next season
No one could say that on paper Frank had done other than perform miracles at Brentford given the shambles he inherited, yet he stabilized them to mid table staples on a shoestring
Spurs took a punt and bloke was found badly lacking in the shark pond that is Spurs

Yes, but I’m not talking about a ‘big club’ necessarily, I’m talking about a club in France that might be attractive to him as a route ‘back home’.

Possibly, yes your boss does seem very calm and that’s not the norm usually. I suppose Iraola wise he’ll have more pressure next season at Liverpool I presume, we’ll see what he’s like.

Didn’t go to the SOL this season, was watching my previously unbeaten local non league team Leighton Town lose 5-0 at Hitchin as I was supposed to be running. Unfortunately I had smashed my elbow so was in a mood. And us losing 3-2 after being 2-0 up was a blow. And standing with my Sunderland supporting mate! Character building LOL.

Anyway, back to looking at travel to possible EL teams! Going to be fun.

Totally agree with this.

Those two games versus Bournemouth were the most niggly, unpleasant and petty in our whole season. Wouldnt have guessed those would be the games at beginning of season.

As far as I remember about our reactions to the 3-2,everyone acknowledged the massive effect your amazing home atmosphere had. Plus that stupid challenge by Scott for the penalty and Evanilson’s offside idiocy too. Just a frustrating afternoon all round.

You did a job on us at ours too, in a different way. More frustration too! Fair play though, first season up every point is vital. Draws at home cost us CL tbh, especially Leeds & City, but can’t complain too much ;)
