Ghisolfi talk.

A mate of mine was at the senior supporters talk on Sunday before the match which was given by Ghisolfi. Someone asked how the club would cope if they got into Europe. Ghisolfi said they were well aware that they would be moving to Thurs/Sunday football and they would need a first team squad of 21. He said they currently had a first team ready group of 16 which I assume meant that the likes of Mayenda, Ta Bi, Jones were often in the squad but not considered first team ready (I get that the numbers may be questionable but that's what he said apparently). He said they had two plans, one for Europe and one for not achieving Europe. I know this is pretty obvious but it takes away some of the concerns. The club are very much on it. It may explain the talk of Mayenda. For all his potential it may be that they are looking to get decent value for him and replace him with someone who is closer to the finished article.
That was a no brainer. Brainless mags assume we will follow their model of failure when we aspire to be villa.
I'd just play him more.
He isn't good enough.
He is the better keeper at the moment.
Nope. Patto is champ.
A promoted club? He's scored in the Prem just not been given many opportunities.
After that game where he had a record low percentage of touches and simply didn't know where to be on the pitch he was benched

What you on about they have been told to play it out from the back hence the way Newcastle scored
When ellborg attempts to go long he does what onien did the majority of the time, a shanked dangerous low ball into midfield. My mag mates couldn’t believe they didn’t test him more, he’s very shaky.

Who would pay that sort of Dosh for him if he's not the finished article?
FFS  🤣 You think you can get the finished article in the premier league for 20 mil. Midfielders who aren't the finished article go for more than 20 mil.

Has that happened more than once he's a very young keeper who was mainly fine made some excellent saves roefs conceded a goal against forest trying to play it out you are being incredibly harsh

The joy of qualifying amongst the SLT was for all to see on Sunday- I’m sure they are aware of what’s required.

I agree

Thought Elborg looked good, confident too but still developing.

Roefs is a bit of a unicorn, lad looks like hes been playing for 10 years in his second full season as a pro.

People need to adjust the optics as you naturally compare the two.

But those two as main keepers with Young as backup on loan to be recalled is an excellent place to be.

One position I am not worries about at all

Fuck off 5mil , 15 mil at the very least. You're going on like the Sunderland of old. In an ironic twist of fate Newcastle are now primed to undervalue and overspend. Imagine selling Anderson for £35 mill tops ( possibly as low as £15mil ) and later buying Wissa for £50 mill with add on's at the age of 29. 😂 😂
If you think Mayenda is worth 15m then you can expect a visit from the men in white coats.... i know hes young but has shown nowhere near enough when called upon ..i doubt he will get 10 appearances next season..the only thing he has got is pace and when you are up against a better player than you who is just as quick theres always only going to be one winner..sorry to disappoint ...its all about opinions and mine is that hes not good enough.

I love his foot work and distribution like, but he had a right brain fart on Sunday, which I'm sure he'll learn from.

I think we need a squad of players to compete in 4 competitions, and if you think O'nien in particular, and Isidor to a slightly lesser extent, havent a part to play, then you are a berk.
Is the correct answer. He also seems blissfully unaware that Neil is out of contact too. Going on like he's played for us this season but needs to got rid of

Agree although ellborg is younger and may have a higher ceiling .

The same Patto that made a world class save in playoff final that secured promotion for us .
Yeah right!!
He did yeh not that one game proves anything I trust the club who decided to bring more keepers in

Agree I also trust the club on their decisions. Have the feeling it's the fact that the club would be more than happy to have had Patterson as backup keeper. It was more the case of Patterson wanting game time and not being happy to ride the pine for the rest of his contract. Roefs is clearly number one and rightly so.
