Safe Standing

Just phoned the ticket office earlier and can’t offer anything with 2 seats together, anyone wanting to “swap” 2 seats for safe standing for next season give me a message.
You want out of safe standing?
Anyone wanting to swap seats from U18 to safe standing U17 then I’d be up that . Must be 2 seats together.

My 8 year old can not stand for 90 minutes and SAFC have 0 seats elsewhere in the stadium for us to sit

There must be a way of making a mass switching process for people wanting to move away from standing areas and vice versa?

Obviously there are no available seats to do regular seat swaps, but there could be a list/map of people from both standing and non standing areas to sort out their swaps from there.

I need to move 3 mate. I’d be happy to swap if they’d be able to let me move us into standing section and your two into my present seats. Happy to help out with whatever

Ah well some folk are going to be disappointed after being told they were getting safe standing. They really should have given those in the block that wanted to move first dibs on seats that had become available. Then made it all safe standing.

That article was a pain to read, i couldn't read the end bit thou of what they changed. Club should have made a statement about it

I’d happily swap 3 from u13 row 38 into safe standing if the club or 3 people want to swap!
It's a shame there isn't a swap option if within the same pricing section that the club could offer. Someone wanting to swap 2 standing to 2 sitting agree to it and the club swap the seats, even if there's a £20 charge as normal for doing it just like ST moves into empty seats.

This bit you couldn't see at the end?

A spokesperson said: “Following the successful rollout of 2,000 safer standing spaces in 2024/25, the club recently announced plans to extend rail seating to blocks U40, U15, U16, U17 and U18 for the 2026/27 season.

“Having listened to supporter feedback, we’ve revised our plans for block U18. Rail seating will now be installed only in the top seven rows, where standing is most common, with the lower rows remaining seated.

“We will monitor the area during the season and keep future requirements under review, while continuing to balance safety, operational needs and supporter feedback.”

Anyone know how many rows there are in U18? Trying to find out if my seat is rail seating or not and can’t find an interactive seat plan with there being no tickets on sale at the moment. I was looking forward to standing next season but suspect I won’t be now because of some old moaners.

Does this mean area U16 row 32 gets the rails

Were they told that as originally it was only to U17 and it's there still on AskSAFC as it was shown on the map below also. Blue is just the remaining front rows and the others are the full sections.

Safe standing 2026/27

Please note that the Safe Standing area will be extended to include the following blocks:

  • Block U14
  • Block U37
  • Block U38
  • Block U39
  • Block U40
  • Block U15
  • Block U16
  • Block U17

Strange why they're doing U18 in the blue section of the West stand as it wasn't on the map originally (right half of image below) as it stops at U17 in the South West corner. Surely it's a clerical error online and in the email as now there's no mention of U14 as it's now U18 that is mentioned instead.

I thought maybe they were talking about the front rows of U14 as even if everyone is standing in U17, it wouldn't block the view for those in U18. I take it's that it's due to the persistent standing in U18 they just thought they'd do the lot without warning until fans spoke up about it? Even so, it should still mention U14 surely as well as U18 so summit is wrong somewhere 🤪

Ah I had assumed that U18 was one of the areas which had already been communicated. In terms of line of sight it seems a bit daft to do any in U18 but that's the same for only doing part of U14. There must be times when folk in U14 need to stand to see the pitch. Why don't they do all of the upper sections of the Roker End and both corners?

It's being done in steps as they can't just have the whole end as standing when a decent percentage wouldn't want that.

What puzzles me is there's no mention of U14 now as it's been replaced by U18. They say U18 is due to persistent standers so maybe they want to keep within safety issues by just doing that as well. It's a bit shit how they've decided so late if that's the case. What about those is row 9 who may not want to stand either but those in row 8 do?
