Safe Standing

I'm in the South Stand, cheap or not I love them.
Stand during the game and a sit down at half time.
I’m in U15 and we stand the whole game. But the proper rail seats are so much better. If you have a larger person in your row and you have to squeeze past them it’s quite an intimate experience in the cheap safe standing!!!
Proper by the sounds of that link and they are upgrading the current ones
That’s how I’m reading it mate

I think the gap is the same.

I'm in U39 south stand, got the e-mail about rails being out in next season, anyone know if they mean the existing ones are being upgraded?...cos they are bloody horrendous.

Just phoned the ticket office earlier and can’t offer anything with 2 seats together, anyone wanting to “swap” 2 seats for safe standing for next season give me a message.

Too bulky and just metal basically. Not .uch room. We have the worst safe standing in the league. Cheap.
I have been in the South Stand since the away supporters were moved and there is very little difference in squeezing past.
As for them being metal, what alternative is there?

Sunderland AFC will be investing in supporter safety and the matchday experience at the Stadium of Light this summer, with rail seating set to be introduced in selected areas ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The installation will take place in the Roker End and South West Corner, specifically within blocks U15, U16, U17, U18, U37, U38, U39 and U40.

The introduction of rail seating forms part of the Club’s continued commitment to ensuring safe standing areas are managed safely, responsibly and in line with the relevant guidance.

Those in wheelchair spaces on the lateral gangway will not be impacted by the implementation of the rail seating.

I know, that's the e-mail i got. I'm asking if they are replacing the existing barriers?

Put the proper railings in like all the other grounds i've been to this season.
What's proper railings, I'm sure ours have passed health and safety.
We are limited by the spacing of the seats, a lot of the grounds I have been built to have more leg room especially the newer stadiums. The likes of Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge are closer together.

Stamford bridge was fine with their railings, as was Forest, both old grounds....their railings were half the size of ours.

Still a squeeze at Chelsea.
We are never going to agree, maybe it's a age difference thing but today is luxury compared to what I have put with over the years, I have no complaints.

That’s the proper rail seating. Hopefully they finally do it like this. Should stop my legs getting cut to bits

That would do me.
No way my legs get cut to bits, if this happened I would have told the club about it, or moved.
