Is the first game you attended on YouTube?

Keegan inspired Southampton beat us 2.1. Future manager Big Sam with our goal. Sat on a barrier on the left of the Fulwell, the noise when we scored blew me away

Yes actually, 20 seconds of a 0-0 draw in 1997. Can only remember the penalty and their keeper getting an injury

March 61, Sunderland V Spurs in the FA Cup is the first I can remember.
Nee chance its on the net.
I was 9 years old and I went by myself. 63,000 plus crowd. Different times then.
There is excellent pin sharp coverage on that which I have seen a few times on here and on my laptop. Also, the replay at Spurs.
Just do a search - Sunderland 1 Spurs 1 1961 video

I can't find it unfortunately, but it was April 3rd 1972 at Roker Park, we beat Burnley 4-3 with Billy Hughes coming on as sub and scoring the winner. Dave Watson scored 2 and Keith Coleman scored the other. Just over 14,000 there. I was completely hooked, not yet 10 years old. Statcat is a beautiful thing for dragging up memories.

Bizarrely my first game (i thought) was in the late 80s vs Port Vale.

But ive checked and I definitely saw us play Ipswich in 87 (ive got the programme and written the result and scorer (proctor) written in it. We won 1-0)

I was sure my first game was home to Port Vale. But thats clearly not the case.
Mad is that.

Asked my dad last night and he said he couldn't really remember but if he had to guess he'd guess Port Vale.

Maybe there's some sort of mass delusion going on! :)

It was rammed that night. Was in the Roker end with my sister and we ended up sitting on the back of the advertising boards behind the goal.

First game was 16 mins into this video, home to Sheffield United

I was at that Sheff U game in the Roker End, probably singing about Greasy Chip Butties.
I moved to Sunderland at the end of that season.

there certainly is on Tyneside!

Its really weird. All my life my Dad has said my first game was vs Port Vale at Roker. I dont remember the game or opponent myself, but I remember two old boys sharing Opal Fruits with us, and one gave me a red and white Rosette. Ive still got it somewhere.

But if we really didnt play them till 90, then theres no way it was my first game, because I have a programme of a game vs Ipswich

Btw it was a lovely sunny day. This footage makes it look like an apocalypse was taking place.
