Is the first game you attended on YouTube?

Don’t think so, think it was notts county we’d been on a school day out and at the end the club gave the kids tickets in the clockstand. Must have been 93 Buxton was manager as we bumped into him during the tour. Was skint as a kid and with no dad or family into footy that school trip gave me a chance to go to a game. I played on the pitch as a performer against forest will have been 92 I think. I played drums for a touring Japanese cultural group.

Haven't seen it.
Always struggle to recall my first games.
About 1986/7
Portsmouth, Watford I think.
Both 4 nill wins I think.
Gabbiadini 2 goals in one, hattrick in the next.
But could be Leicester or maybe even port Vale.
Think Armstrong got a couple too.

Never seen them online though.
But I do think I have the end of season tapes in the loft

1-0 win against Southend thanks to Russell, and a Kevin Ball red card .

1995

All I can say is, it may exist in some form of old film, but wouldn't know as I cannot remember who it was against. 60-ish years back, I was about 12-13 ish. Went with my brother and fannied around on the fence at the back of the Fulwell end.

Huddersfield at home 1997.

Attendance looks absolutely shocking - was it always that shit in the first year at the SoL?

I'm a Hartlepool supporter but my mam's side of the family are from Easington Lane, spent a lot of time up there and South Hetton growing up. They're all Sunderland supporters so always considered them my other team.
Used to go to Roker park now and again through the seventies and eighties. This was the first game I went to, in the Fulwell end

I always wonder how people remember stuff like this. I can vaguely recall being in the main stand paddock. That's it, nothing else. Absolutely no idea who the opposition was, whether we won or lost, what year even. I would have been 13 or 14. That's all I can remember.

Here it is sunlun v spurs 1990 0-0 I remember it so vividly, not the match but the sights shapes and noises from the Fulwell end as I was in the mainstand paddock had me hooked,
Gazza n Lineker had grabbed my football attention months beforehand at the world cup, by the end of this game it was Norman bennett and Marco who I loved

It was rammed that night. Was in the Roker end with my sister and we ended up sitting on the back of the advertising boards behind the goal.

First game was 16 mins into this video, home to Sheffield United

I was at that game. I played on a Saturday so rarely got to see the lads. Our match was called for some reason, so a few of us drove to Roker. In those days you could pay on the gate. Great game, beats running around in crap weather. I've got it in my head that Millwall were near the top, but went on a terrible run after this hammering.

I know mine was Vs Port Vale and I was in the Clockstand with my Dad and my uncle. I was 7 or 8, so would've been around 84/85/86?

In my head, we won it 3-1...

Edit: Right. Well that's my world view fucked then. We didn't play them til 1990 at Roker and theres no way that was my first game. Was going by myself at that point.

I've no idea what my first game was, clearly.

Bizarrely my first game (i thought) was in the late 80s vs Port Vale.

But ive checked and I definitely saw us play Ipswich in 87 (ive got the programme and written the result and scorer (proctor) written in it. We won 1-0)

I was sure my first game was home to Port Vale. But thats clearly not the case.

Usually through other people. My dad and grandad took me to my first game and (incorrectly - as above) told me who played/scored. Just like ill tell my son about his first match long after hes forgotten

I was only 5 started my weird love for average midfielders (Dean Whitehead and Grant Leadbitter)

I think my first Game was before Television was invented and Can't really remember much of it....Me Dad sat me on a barrier in the Roker End and bought me a Bag of Peanuts.....Monty was in goal for us and Cec Irwin made a super block tackle.....think Colin Suggett was playing although that could be a mis memory as He became my first Red and White Hero.....Gordon Harris scored a penalty and I think we won as me Dad was Happy. :)
