i've said the same thing for years. listen to the pundits on match of the day, or the pundits on sky before and after games, or ex players on podcasts etc..
... they say absolutely nothing different to what any of us say, either on here or with our mates or in work places all week. i'm not sure how they've even got jobs.
the likes of Micah Richards, Neville, Carragher, Shearer, Roy Keane etc... they just play up to their pre-determined, choreographed stage characters and try to say something non-football related to create viral, bite-size social media content.
they are boring as fuck, and i honestly don't think they know very much about football despite being great players of the game.
theres a sub-reddit called 'the other 14' about the premier league away from the top 6 and most of them just naturally think 'well sunderland, brighton and bournemouth are going to struggle next season with the burden of europe'.... i mean, thats a fine opinion to have and its not a bad prediction based on the fact that first european seasons cost teams an average of -9 points relative to their previous season.
buts its not exactly radical thinking, and its being repeated by everyone as if they've came up with some new, outlandish prediction based on their own expert analysis of the situation.
everyone is just repeating everyone else. thats why i am keeping my powder dry on a) predicting that we'll struggle, and b) predicting that the three promoted clubs will struggle. yes, its got a good chance of happening, but there are millions of other factors at play
