LON playing out from back

I always believe that RLB wish he’d have made O’Nein captain last season, only at first he didn’t rate him and didn’t think he’d play much of a part but O’Nein as always proved him and everyone else including me! What a guy!

A must to keep for next season, cracking squad player. Has cut a lot of his silly shite out too, which I was disappointed about yesterday as I was waiting for him to get booked on my build a bet for a ton.

I've seen enough of O'Nien against Premier League strikers to suggest he could handle plenty of Europa level ones. People forget just how strong the PL is.

I'm sure we'll sign another CB, but in the interest of rotation, I'd have no issues trusting him as a sort of 'European captain'.

(He's flawed - his arms terrify me - and he has a shocker in his locker, but he's a PL-standard modern centre back.)

Said all along. Hes not as good as some make out. But you cant question his effort and commitment and hes a far better player than his critics would have you believe

The biggest thing for me is how hes matured in a league with VAR.

Sunderland are a better team with Luke Onien in it

Wrote that badly. The team isnt better with him in it. The club is better with him a part of it

Dude was spraying the ball around like David Beckham, I was delighted that Luke shone yesterday - he's a very good player and an amazing human being ❤️😎

His work ethic and lack of ego is something that all young players should study. He could have jacked in and asked for a move to an easier league ages ago. He dug in, worked hard and earned every PL cap he’s had. I love him.

Think back to that scene in STID where the fella tells Luke he should sign one of the stadium seats “just in case you ever make it in the game”

Thought I was in a dream watching Chelsea, yeah that’s Chelsea stop pressing LON because he took their press out of the game about 10 in the first half with the passing.

The ball to Brobbey for the second goal is absolutely sublime
I for one will gladly say I was wrong about him at this level, however he has obviously stated he still has a career and I’m over the moon for him 😁😁😁 the knars

He’s been brilliant recently, really pleased for him because you can see what it means to him. Anyone who achieves what he has (working his way up the leagues) deserves respect from any football fan because it shows what a top attitude you must have. So many times now you hear the opposite where footballers with bags of natural ability just don’t actually enjoy playing it much or anymore. O’Nien should be an inspiration to any young lad playing down in the lower leagues. Jamie Vardy was the same.
