Still don’t understand why they want to Spy on any team every game is available in some form

If they can’t learn the opponents weaknesses from that then there in the wrong buisness

How do people still not get it. They could have got the starting line up for starters, in fact they almost certainly will have. That in itself is an unbelievable advantage regardless of anything else.

But very, very surprising to hear that the legal team say they "have to go for action", since lawyers acting as such are not supposed to make commercial decisions and typically avoid doing so at all costs as PI insurance doesn't cover it. We are an arse-covering breed by nature, inherently averse to personal risk.

Like I say. Very surprising.

Anyway, I wonder who they plan to sue and what obligation they say that person has breached.

Surely if the EFL ruling had simply stated that by cheating, Southampton had forfeited the semi final and thus the win is awarded to Boro, then any future legal action from Hull would have been avoided.

Possibly.

But even if not, and if they chose to sue the EFL, I reckon Hull would have to show that the EFL has a positive, unqualified obligation to give Hull a bye in these circumstances, or that by selecting one option out of several available, they acted so unreasonably that no other reasonable decision maker could have come to that conclusion and / or EFL acted in bad faith.

Those are mountains to climb in my view. Maybe their lawyers are much cleverer than me, though.

If anything we thought a small fine but brutal honest, yes we were guilty and no hiding from that. We were made an example of and other clubs including Tottenham breached the same and only picked up a fine.
As for Brian Hillier he simply vanished from the scene and history.

As to what followed without doubt the hardest footballing knock I will ever encounter.
Just imagine celebrating at Wembley in front of a fantastic team that played superbly well and thousands of our fans. We came up from the then 4th division and to think would be playing the likes of Liverpool and Man Utd. I will always remember my Brother in tears. I was younger but it never really sank in, I was completely numb by it all and maybe thought there would always be great times like this.
Sadly there wasn’t. More recent times we simply got saddled by wrong owners and only knows how the fit and proper owner test works.

I know the passion though is locked away deep in my body. I know that if we had a successful period, even a season, even getting rid of the scum bag criminals that have attached themselves to our once great club then it will boil over.

Told the kids that the old Man will be in tears and do you know what I would just love to be in tears because you just get accustomed to the continued pain. The loyalty and hope card feels as thin as it ever has done and my years are passing by so fast.
Why can’t it be our turn because we have endured enough. I am not greedy, unrealistic or my expectations are unachievable. I want to love my football club again and haven’t for some time.

I know this is old news and that we’ve had this conversation before, but….. many lower division clubs had complained about the illegal payments that were being made, and most lower division supporters knew the rumours about what was happening. In 1986 Chester formally complained to the FA about it, they weren’t the first to complain and they certainly weren’t the last. Any Swindon fans or employees who say they didn’t know must have had their head in the sand - I’d heard the rumours and read it in the papers, and I was at school in the north west! Macari joined Swindon in 1984 and left in 1989. The illegal payments started in 1984 and finished in 1989. In my humble opinion Swindon got away with it. They cheated for 5 seasons across multiple divisions, and effectively got no punishment. The FA deliberately left the sentencing until after the play off final and then stated that for the purposes of the punishment they would be considered as a Division One side 🤷‍♂️. They were demoted 2 divisions, reduced to 1 on appeal - meaning that they stayed in exactly the same division (Division 2) as they were in when they were found guilty. They should have been put back into the division that they were in when the 5 years of cheating started - I.e. Division 4. It wasn’t just cheating, most of it was illegal, their chairman received a prison sentence, Macari was acquitted [in court] after he pleaded guilty to cheating but claimed that he had no idea he was breaking ‘legal’ laws only FA laws. Swindon were fined £7,500 - less than all of the 35 illegal payments that they admitted to making. And yes, they admitted to making 35 illegal payments…. basically to avoid the investigation into the suspicions that they were guilty of making many, many more illegal payments over the 5 years.
