England World Cup squad news

I heard Hoddle on Danny Kelly's TalkSPORT 2 show giving a completely revisionist account of that process and decision. He was in good enough form and good enough fitness for that squad. Hoddle put Kenny G on in his hotel room and told Gazza he wasn't good enough. He is a scheister who robbed him of his swansong. Nobody else at the time thought he wasn't good enough or fit enough. He lit up Euro 96 only two years before.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Hoddle lost 2 out of 4, and of course they came home, and destroyed Gascoigne in the process. He never came back from that.

All the while, by the way, Hoddle was writing everything down and wearing a wire for material for the book that he published only a couple of months later, betraying every single one of them to sell copies. Smashing a lamp was a dream for his publisher. Even related Alan Shearer crying on the floor of the dressing room. Don't forget his blind superstitious beliefs, Eileen Drewery and omens and spiritual healing. And the reason he was eventually fired.

He's a horrible horrible man.
Glenn Hoddle was my 1st footballing hero so I'll just pretend you haven't absolutely ripped him to pieces and I disagree about Gazza.
Who btw is a terrible bloke

Some very questionable choices, main ones that stand out to me are Burn (obviously), Quansah (Has he had a good season?), Spence (possibly relegated this weekend and awful), Henderson (Gibbs-White better this season but i half get the leadership side), Madueke (Done nothing of note this season, isn't even a starter for Arsenal) and Gordon (hit and miss player, don't know if best choice but out of these players has best case i guess).

Some very strange decisions in there .

Spence is an horrific player and has a questionable attitude.

Henderson has been an amazing player but surely Gibbs White has done enough to take that place.

Palmer speaks for itself , looked back to his best lately

Tony has scored a lot of goals but at what level ? Surely the form of DCL has been good enough to get on the plane ?

Not bothered about Foden and TAA as they’ve not shown enough form .

Burn is a bit of a donkey but I can sort of see why he gets in the squad but McGuire is a better player and some might say could do that job better .

Gibbs-white has been one of the best players in the leage, especially given how bad Forest were for parts of the season.

Not sure what Tuchel has been watching. Stones has barely played any football. Just a bizarre selection imo.
Henderson is a nuts decision🤷‍♂️

Find a copy of My World Cup Story in a charity shop near you. You'll change your opinion of him.

I think he is there more for his leadership / experience to be honest. Doubt he will play many minutes. But is it worth taking a spot in the squad for someone to plsy this kind of role? Guess it's up for debate.
