Southampton spying compendium thread

How do you know they'd be playing at Wembley on Saturday? If they didn't cheat, they may not have won the tie. The only reason they cheated was to gain a competitive advantage to help them win the tie.

The argument of "Boro lost anyway" doesn't work when the other team cheated to win the game.

It's like if someone cheated in a 100m race by setting off early and then won the race, 2nd place would become the winner - you wouldn't say 'second place lost so they shouldn't complain'.
Or when some drug cheat is disqualified from the Olympics, nobody says second place shouldn’t get the gold medal, they lost.

Southampton knew they'd somehow gotten away with spying since December (maybe all season). Their form improved massively and were clear favourites to beat Boro.

Drunk on their spying success, they then decided to carry out comedic spying on Boro, despite being very likely to win the match anyway. They decided to put their club's very existence at risk, if caught.

The Southampton supporters won’t be laughing now. It’s going to get worse for Southampton. Players suing the club and tearing up their contracts . The LND will be out at the first opportunity . Even the sponsors may bail out due to the toxicity of being linked with Southampton
Can see them relegated next season

Points deduction (possibly more points), losing all their best players, manager potentially banned along with others, a summer of turmoil and probably loads of legal wranglings and assorted hearings. Where have you been for the last week or so? 🤣
It's 4 points even if it was 20 they probably wouldn't go down and they will still invest decent money and have decent managers for championship level wanting to be in charge, are they really going to finish below that many teams.
