Saudi PIF in talks with potential investors

They build a new stadium, then what? Do they automatically win the league. They should speak to Spurs about increased match day revenues.

It’s is and always has been about finding value for money in the transfer market, not how much you spend.
Stop.
Talking.
Sense.
😂

Aye they’ll definitely build a 50-60,000 seater stadium along with everything else that entails in the middle of a housing estate. Happens all the time
I don’t think they will. I was asking a question.
Some seem to think they will build a stadium in a protected, Victorian park. Which is dafter??
Assume you are unable to answer the actual question then
I mean that isn’t true but who gives a fuck about the truth eh
None of it is true. The buildings are not handsome. They could be, if looked after and given some TLC.

So what are the plans?

I suspect they have looked at the land in question but as you say, it’s hugely problematic.

Not only would they need buy-in from the local community but the infrastructure projects would cost billions. The Saudis wouldn’t get much change from 4bn

Every proposal has problems. What they can’t do is nothing. They need to make a decision. Announce it. Take the flak. Move on.

Their best course is to sell the mags back to Ashley and buy a big club like Spurs or Manchester United. They can build a new mag stadium and still not be able to raise the revenue enough to compete with the big clubs.

They could also look at buying Celtic or Rangers who will both be invited to the inevitable super league, where they will make a mint, and there are few clubs with bigger global followings (Celtic have over 10 million fans).

Newcastle was a terrible buy, both in terms of making money and gaining prestige for themselves.

Footballs f***ing mental isn't it.

3-4 years ago you'd never have thought that this season we're potentially going to finish above them, possibly qualify for Europe, they possibly finish in the bottom half, have the Saudis looking to sell and Sunderland just looking a far better ran club.

Talk about a rollercoaster!!!!

I think one of two things.
Stay put, redevelop and perhaps find a way to increase the East Stand but not massively… or
A site that is well out of town with a financing model similar to that used by Real Madrid. I do not see PIF, or any other owner, stumping up £1.5 billion for a build.
Cheers Biffs

So at the minute nothing is concrete
Got neen.
Seems like that, I wasn't sure if I'd missed it as I am not so much in to keeping up with them lot

Despite all the bollocks on social media mate, in my opinion you probably only need another 5000-6000 seats to satisfy demand.

For that reason, I suspect the ownership is seeking an investment of £300m purely to do something with the East Stand (the rest of the money needed will be through loans).

Because you are hosting 2028 Euro games, there is probably not much you can do before then anyway.

Forgot about the Euro's, that's the can getting kicked down the road for another couple of years.
