Chelsea v Spurs

So they'll be less @rsed for Sunday...... though it's all conjecture
You must have missed post #32 as a Chelsea win means they'd be more arsed about Sunday, not less. They lose, the best they can get in Conference which given their financial situation isn't a good option.

A Chelsea win means they could be in with a small chance of Champions League by beating us, or a decent chance of Europa League.

Haway Bournemouth tonight then. Also means Liverpool may have to beat Brentford Sunday which helps us.

They've not been @rsed the past umpteen games but I get your point. They wont get champions league though.

So both a Chelsea win and loss means theyll be less arsed for Sunday on separate posts :lol:
I guess some don't realise how much the 70% SCR would affect Chelsea by being in the Conference at best if they lose tonight. It's about £70m less to spend on their £500m revenue which is a big hit. That's ignoring the other games to play as look at Man Utd this season, nee Europe and flying in 3rd place and they spent some decent money on 4 players.

Aye Bournemouth getting a draw tonight kills Chelsea's CL hopes and hands the title to Arsenal.

A draw gives Chelsea a sniff of Europa and it relegates West Ham as they aren't making up 13 goals on the last day.

I wonder what Alonso would prefer. 1 game a week for a season to help him implement how he wants them to play or having to juggle probably Conference league at best which lets be honest isn't what Chelsea fans are that arsed about watching again.

People talking about Chelseas attitude for Sunday depending on tonights result, bottom line is that their players attitude has stank the league out for months, they last won in the league the night we were at Elland road i think.

We gotta go into the game with the mindset that we ARE the underdog otherwise we end up cocky thinking we gonna win like with Forest.

Regardless of what happens between Chelsea and Spurs tonight, West Ham won't beat Leeds, so none of it matters. None of it.
This. I expect it will be a little ‘spicy’ post match.
Can imagine Kings Cross / Euston area being lively as well. Everton, Leeds and Newcastle all in London.

So the mags matter more than us?

For SAFC, the correct answer is Spurs to win. If Spurs win then Chelsea can only qualify for Conference. To them it would be a hindrance given their high revenue and spending being restricted to 70% instead of 85% and also having to deal with up to 17 more games in the season to win it.

If Chelsea do draw or win then the have a sniff of 7th place and Europa League so they'll possibly go for it on Sunday. If they lose tonight then will Chelsea be going all out to possibly finish 8th and end up in the Conference?
Nah. We need to beat Chelsea regardless of what they do tonight. Chelsea win knocks the mags out of Europe.

Aye but playing against a Chelsea team chasing Europa (very slim chance of CL if Man City win toneet and Villa tomorra) is different to a Chelsea chasing Conference that those at the club probably wouldn't want. They're not like us and wanting to be in Europe no matter what to go visit far out places in the Conference as they'd be restricted financially by about £70m spending.

It may be they need to cut back on spending and this would help greatly. Or for example, that extra £70m spending could equate to 5 year contracts for a few players at a total of over £200m transfer fees plus wages in the hope they get Champions League next season, just like Man Utd did without the extra games. Europa isn't as bad as it's a possible way into Champions League which is what the big clubs want as it brings in the big money season upon season.

Pointless trying to predict which Chelsea will turn up. Get the mags binned off tonight and see how Sunday goes for us.

Aye, that's the simple way to look at it but I couldn't give a shit about the mags as I want us to win no matter what.

That's why I'm looking at it as if I was Chelsea and lost tonight. The longer term effect of being stuck at 70% spend next season yet not bringing in the big money Champions League makes it harder along with the extra games. Would they push us as much as they still would if they could still get more than Conference? I think they would so a loss toneet kills off their CL & Europa instantly.

Personally baffled that anyone would want a result that puts us lower in the table. Spurs aren't going down regardless so I want them to win as it directly helps us!
