PGMOL apologise to Forest

For not ruling out Cunha’s goal after Mbuemo’s hand ball.

It’s just ridiculous isn’t it? How can the ref miss it in real time, have his mate say “you might want to look at this”, watch a replay, and still get it wrong?

If the people refereeing the game don’t know the rules, what are they doing there in the first place?

source?

Because they are telling us one thing then doing another, what about all this shout about grappling in the box? They done it for the first 6 games then fucked it off. The hair pulling? People sent off and Calvert Lewin gets away with it.

And the hand ball rule is an absolute abomination, it might as say "hand ball is down to the referee's discretion".

IFAB have made the rules so complicated, the professionals who are there to implement the rules don’t know what they’re doing.

The rules need simplifying and they need to get some competent referees.
Fully agree with that.

There is no forgiving the refereeing for that 'goal' mind as the rules around handball in the box leading to a goal have been very clear all season, but so many other rules are left up to refs interpretation because it seems like things change week by week. I get there will always be grey areas in football with regards to what is a foul and what isn't, but some rules should be absolute and they just aren't.

shouldn't be allowed to referee in the premierleague again

anyone can miss something. but as you say when your being told the on field decision is wrong, get the chance to watch it again and again and then still make the wrong decision it's just indefensible
I mean ever again is way ott.

It’s the worst I’ve seen so far though.

Even this doesn't really put the whole thing to bed, as there was a lot of quite coherent arguments as to why it wasn't handball and the ref was correct... So the whole thing is just a f***ing mess every which way round.

Doesn't help that a lot of pundits still quote things that (as far as I'm aware) aren't actually rules, such as 'unnatural position' or whether he moved his hand towards the ball etc.

Not sure I've ever been more confused on not only what is or isn't handball, but also what may or may not be given as handball.
