Am I alone in thinking this has been blown out of proportion. Did Southampton gain that much advantage over 2 legs from a young lad watching a training session ?

If they would gain nothing or very little from it then why risk doing it? It makes zero sense that if it wouldn't make a difference when the rules clearly state you can be thrown out along with any number of other sanctions to risk doing it

I understand the point you are making - but that isn't what's being judged here. It's cheating and they have broken the rules. Whether it is in proportion or out of proportion, that will always be subjective.

Maybe they didn’t as he was found out but I’m sure if a a manager was given opposition training information, like set up and tactics just before one of the most important games of the season it’s a massive advantage. That’s the point. Wed be livid if we lost a play off game and it came out that the op team had secretly recorded our training sessions before the game, or hacked RLB laptop, etc etc.
I don't care who is promoted out of Boro and Hull so long as it's not Southampton.

In my opinion the punishment should be always be way harsher than the act. Stops teams or players making a value judgement call.

Even just from a logical point of view of protecting our own continued Premiership status, both Boro and Hull would likely struggle next season. But you'd probably fancy Hull to fair particularly badly.

Radical solution but how about cancelling promotion for one season. That’ll learn em and have comedy value for Cov. ( only joking obviously, I am actually quite pleased Cov got promoted as a “Cov kid” because it’s good for the city but do hope we batter them at least twice next season).

I wanted Millwall up for the crack and I don't actually mind Southampton as a club but they need to get booted out if caught cheating. Simple as. I don't care if it affected the outcome or not. If it was against us we would be screwing. Hull would be my choice
