They're all over the phone ins and internet tying themselves in knots to deny what happened, innocent until proven guilty, not proven he worked for Southampton etc etc, and you expect that I suppose. But my goodness they are coming across as the second most entitled, deluded and obnoxious set of fans I have ever heard. Have they always been a bunch of twats?

The mental gymnastics is something else. On the Southampton Forum they're saying the whole thing was entrapment, orchestrated by Boro. There was an analyst who worked at Boro and then at Southampton, he was let go by Tonda Eckert shortly after he assumed the head coach role. This lad then worked with Boro to lull the wet behind the ears intern, the lad contacted Salt telling him an easy way to get into watch and film Boro training and how much it would please Tonda if he got the final training session filmed. But the lad was a double agent working with Boro who were ready and waiting to film Salt doing the spying.

Having lived amongst them for over 40 years,I think it's fair to say they have their fair share of T**ts, but most are good people. Same as us really.

It appears now that Boro are not the only club to have been spied upon this season by Southampton. I have know idea how this is going to pan out but there seems to be a clear evidence trail that has been found they have been doing this to other clubs.

Totally agree with this. Yes Southampton should be punished, kick them out and award Hull with promotion. Berra were shite and don’t deserve to be in a playoff final. We know the game will be played, and not awarded to Hull as the EFL will not lose gate money. The only thing is who plays Hull now. The decision will all be about finance, ie gate receipts to the efl.If Berra get awarded it I hope Hull smash them in the final.

Boro were good in the first leg and Southampton were good in the second leg. It's not like they've seen an opportunity to now get to the final as it was all raised prior to the first leg. Hull shouldn't just be given automatic promotion, the infringement wasn't against them.

You can't just award Hull promotion when they had no involvement with the infringement.

Then let them play that way. Southampton broke the rules so imho should forfeit the first leg. Home win 3-0. Doing it retrospectively shouldn't be a problem.

The Play Off Final appears to be the least of Southampton's worries given all the other teams reported to be providing evidence to support allegations of doing this throughout the season.

Evidence of recording or not, it's against the rules to WITNESS the training session.

So, travelling hundreds of miles to spy on your opponents training session two days before a match is ok, as long as you don't record it?

no, obviously not. I didn't say it was.

And it's not against the rules to witness the training session. It's against the rules to observe it, directly or indirectly. There is a significant legal difference.

It’s definitely been an eye opening thread. I had no idea that people who follow football could have no idea what so ever what goes on in training and how watching a teams session can give you an insight into how they plan to approach the game.

Ha'way man, some people struggle to understand if you play the ball backwards you can be offside still, or if you throw the ball direct into either goal it isn't a goal.
