The logical flow would be.
  • Club breaches Regulation 127 (Southampton have and have been charged under R127)
  • League investigates under Regulation 84
  • Case is referred to a Disciplinary Commission under Regulation 85.1.2 (it has been)
  • Commission hears the case under Regulations 90–92
  • Commission imposes sanctions under Regulation 93
  • Regulation 93 allows any order it considers appropriate
  • Regulation 94 sets out what happens if that order is expulsion

On reflection I think the best option is Southampton forfeit the first leg. Sets a consistant precedent that if caught spying against a team you forfeit that specific game against them. Would put it alongside the likes of fielding an illegible player in terms of punishment.

They've just said they were 21st in the league when he took over ,
He was also an analysist for the German national team in the past ,

Exactly right. If Boro had won then it would be difficult to have justice done. However, since Southampton won it is piss easy. They should be kicked out and Boro go to Wembley.

Who is to say the spy did not see Boro working on free kicks and corner routines that Southampton were able to nullify tonight?
