My folks are there now, saying its 35C and Epcot was fairly quiet yesterday - sounds ideal, this End April/Early May might just be the best time to be out there.

That’s always been our preferred time for last 15 years. Just after spring break. Only have to deal with the cheerleaders at summit event on certain days. Weather is class and hot. Parks pretty dead. Flights etc are cheaper.

My mate works in travel and she said Manchester flights are high because aer lingus have pulled flights so they know people want flights so upped the prices. She reckons they’ll settle down again but m idea when.New Fuel surcharges added to virgin and BA now too.

We’re just gonna play the waiting game.

That's when we're going next year.
Will be there for May 4th (star wars day)

Aye, it was packed with cheerleaders when we were there last year. They were a nightmare in the flight tbh, moving around the entire time, disrupting everyone. No bother once we were there, though.
Like you say, just miss Easter and Spring Break, and go asap afterwards for slightly cooler days, dry, no humidity and smaller queues. Its ideal.

But that is a long drive, plus the extra expense of the hotel. The only issue is quite a long layover on the way back, it's about 4-5 hours. But that is sitting chilling in a lounge rather than driving back jet lagged. There is also a (fairly small) soft play in Terminal 5 to entertain the kids for a little bit. Being able to go to Busch Gardens is a bonus, we will have to leave the villa in the morning, so were just going to wonder around Disney Springs, but this makes the last day really usable.

You can go via Dublin with Aer Lingus (using avios as well), also means you can clear US immigration in Dublin. Same sort of layover on the way back though.

true, but Aer Lingus is very difficult to get reward/avios seats. BA always allocates a set amount to each seating class.

I don't think it's been mentioned on this thread already. British Airways is changing their flight to Tampa from Gatwick to Heathrow from late October. This opens up getting the Newcastle to Heathrow morning flight, then a quick pitstop at Terminal 5 then over to Tampa. Tampa airport is only half an hour further away than Orlando and considerably quieter. We will be booking that for next May in a few weeks when the flights become available. It works out well for the day we will be flying back too, we can spend most of the day at Busch Gardens since we are basically driving past it to the airport anyway.

MCO is about half an hour from Disney. You'd do well getting from Tampa Airport to Disney in an hour like.
 
Feedback on the new Test Track. They've removed all the pre-show stuff, where you designed a car etc. Just a walk through now and some environmental stuff apparently. Shame, was quite fun designing a car - I know its a bit boring after a couple of times, but for many its a first time, or at least first time in a year or 2.

Worst is doors in final scene are now permanently open. Spoils the room.

3rd day today, yesterday got on hagrids twice within 20 mins each at 7pm, mental that. Been to epic tonight after volcano bay in morning, little one did yoshis ride was class with her being buzzing, met peach and Mario and Luigi. Frankenstein manor is abit shite, Harry Potter at IOA miles better.

Got on stardust racers at 8:45pm. Wow, what a f***ing coaster in dark, just beamed smiling at it!

Disney tomorrow, Polynesian for breakfast with stich, on the pints round the pool bar while they are asleep like atm waiting on chunks delivered.
