Durham v Worcestershire [a] C.C. 8/5/26

True 206-7 but our 2 frontline seamers 5-87 and the follow up 2-116. Hence "we really could have done with another frontline seamer".
It's a team sport were doing absolutely fine.

The logic is daft. You can't just go well if someone else played we'd have done better. We might have we also might not have.

Potts has been rested which is fair enough.

If Potts and/or Olivier had played logically we would have done better. Aldridge was below par.Today we could have done with another frontline seamer

There seemed to be plenty in it early doors for the bowlers, but when Hose and D’Oliveira came together they batted without any real alarm. On that note, it’s hard to tell whether that’s because the bowlers dropped off or whether batting became much easier once the new ball started to age.

It feels like it’s been our day and that we should be happy, without the partnership of 97 they lost 7-92 and we should fancy our batsmen to perform better than theirs on this pitch. As always, you can’t truly judge a pitch until both sides have batted and it will be particularly interesting to see how Worcestershire perform as a bowling unit, especially considering they have two lads in their side with just two FC games between them (Darley is on debut).

Looking at the sides on paper, we should have a considerable edge. Pair that with the look of the scorecard after Day One and we appear to be in good shape, but I’m not counting any chickens just yet. Any team is capable of a collapse and Worcestershire have had a good habit of outperforming expectations for a number of seasons now.

Weather looking OK for day 2 so far

Looks like a batting day.
Raine getting a substantial amount of swing with a ball that is 68 overs old. So far neither bowler has made the batsmen play enough.

There’s been an eighth wicket but Worcs are just showing adverts on the stream 😂

The stream was abysmal yesterday too, it brings back memories of the bad old days of Championship streaming.

Parky had Brookes caught at first slip via a mistimed reverse sweep.
I'm glad I wasn't imagining that the ad break was completely unwarranted

Well bowled Parky or not who knows!!

Hell on in the YouTube comments section
