Abdul Fatawu - continuing news

The highest fee for a player playing in league one is 11 million Everton paid for Lookman.
Exactly and he was about 17/18 at the time. Leicester will have a grand total of £2m telly money next season after already spaffing their parachute money away to the bank. There is literally no way anyone is giving them £20m for a player.

I’d be very surprised if their don’t end up in administration and the administrator gives the players away for whatever they can get which absolutely won’t be anywhere near that figure for anyone.

This is more likely. He will go for about 8 million I reckon.

I honestly think he could be. He's been playing in a team completely devoid of any confidence almost resigned to relegation.

It could be the perfect time to prise him away for a reasonable fee...

He would fit the profile of our typical signings recently - could represent good value for money due to Leicester's position.

I'm not convinced tbh.

Squad player, then fair enough, but I dont think he's got that all round game that Regis likes. We seen what happened to Adingra if you don't pull your weight.

I'd like to see us get someone in who's got some real power and strength out wide. He looks a little lightweight to me.

If the aim is to regularly finish top 10 in the PL, we need to be looking higher than a relegated Championship side for players that are ready made and will add quality.

They are getting mixed up. We are getting a player who attacks from the right, from a club beginning with L. It's Mo Salah!😁

Is that right? I thought he went for about £5m quid.

I had that CB from Luton (McGuinness) who went to Sheffield United the summer just past for £10.5m as the highest League One sale?

Delph to Villa from Leeds next, and then Lookman to Everton.

Because third tier clubs can’t command that for a player. Brian Oviedo was a regular international player.
They’ll have to sell him on the cheap.
Oviedo put in the worst left back performance I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen Kennedy, Galloway and McFadzean. He’s certainly not comparable. I agree they won’t get 20m though. Perhaps 12.

The league one thing is a bit moot imo, he won’t play there. Unless you really think Lavia etc were championship players

Also Leicester going down to League 1 would be similar to Spurs going down to the championship. They have some players that will have several teams willing to buy them...

I think Fatawu will be one of them...

Who wants to buy any player from a team that stunk the Championship out. They’re simply not good enough for any PL club to waste their money on.

Well no championship club will be paying them 20 million so only prem teams could afford that price. I quite liked the sound of him at the start of the season for that price, without knowing a great deal about him TBH , but now he has just played a part in a championship relegation, I would in no way want us to be paying that for him. He will be on decent wages so they will be trying to shift quite a few. That breaks your bargaining side for getting big money.

Of course it matters what division the selling club is in regarding the price of any bids

Of course it matters, but if several clubs are interested they could end up getting a decent fee. I think £15 to 20m seems like a fair price. Just his serious injury worries me slightly.
