It’s not really that strange is it? He’s clearly just got a ceiling.

Similarly Mick McCarthy and lots of others - Dyche included imo, solid football league managers, and there’s nothing wrong with that. EPL is only for elite coaches now. Only the fittest survive!

There's an argument there about whether is is actually a good manager or not. There are some squads even we could win the Championship with. Burnley had one. He just couldn't follow up step 2 which was to survive the PL. Hope after the way Burnley went on this season and last with us, a donkey takes over and they end up with a decade like Stoke.

Over achieves with run of the mill squads in the FL. Same squads don’t stand a chance in the PL.

I’d hire myself out as a championship promotion specialist myself. £10k a week with a £20m bonus after promotion……..then find yerself a new gaffer for the PL cos this lot are gonners.
