Burnley, Wolves, Tottenham

I'm not sure if you're on a wind up in this thread Keith but you're coming across as clueless mind. Gray is a quality player, he's played in the Championship, Premier League, 2 tiers of European football, every cup competition and at every level for England up to U21 level.

He'll more than likely play for England and has won a European trophy. He's 21 year old.

He'd be a brilliant signing for anyone but he'd be a statement signing for us.
He's nothing better than what we have tbh. Certainly wouldn't be a statement signing mate imo.

I agree with you regarding Gray. Nothing special. Just puts a shift in. Never stands out when you watch Spurs or think he has something. Bang average player.
I knew it couldn't be just me 🙂
Watched the Burnley v Man City and he looks way below what we've already got.
Said it earlier, he missed a couple of very decent chances very poorly. He's been lively as a sub previously but I wouldn't be queuing up.

I would put him 5th behind Xhaka, Sadiki, Le Fee and Diarra in that order.

He's only 20 but an over hyped English player who may or may not go for big money.

Apparently if you think he's average you're deluded. If you think he's great you're correct 😂

It's an opinion and mine is as valid as anyone's. He was f***ing rubbish against us, dropped, Spurs start finally winning. That's a fact.

Behave man. Of course he'll go for big money. Youve come on and said he's rubbish because he was rubbish against us. Spurs have won 1 game against bottom of the league and already relegated Wolves, fair enough but you can still watch a game of football and see who's playing well and who's a good footballer even when the team aren't playing well. Ffs, Pickford, Van Aanholt (for the time) and Bellingham went for good money and at the time we were utter shite man.

I've always liked reading your stuff on here man but you must be on a wind up if you can't see 1) Archie Gray is a quality player and 2) why clubs including us would be interested in him for the right price.

For what it's worth, I think Gray will go to somewhere like Villa, Brighton or Brentford if they get into Europe, be a massive success and go for 100 million plus in a couple of years.

I'd love him here, he's a quality player and he's a local lad.

Having just turned 18 he was transferred for about 33% more than our current record signing, making him the 3rd most expensive 18 year old in the history of world football. I’m pretty sure that he has already ‘gone for big money’ 🤷‍♂️. And I personally haven’t said that you are deluded, I do however think that you are wrong.

Definately behind Xhaka, Sadiki and Le Fee...on par with Diarra....and that's being generous to Diarra ;)

You are 100% on a wind up.

Local lad? His whole family have been rooted in Yorkshire since his Jock Granda played for Leeds in the '70's. His rubbish father played very poorly for us for about a season.

Is Nigel Clough a local lad too?

I've seen him play poorly at full back, centre half and in midfield. What would you suggest was his best position because I'm struggling?

He was literally woeful, as was the whole Spurs midfield at our place. Gallagher who used to be decent was as bad as him.

How can he not get a starting spot in a very poor Spurs team with multiple injuries?
He's played all over the shop for Spurs this season in different systems. He even had to drop into defence when Romero went on his mad runs forward and didn't track back. They paid too much for him but he has good potential to improve as a player in a more regular position.

If West Ham go down I'd pay good money for Bowen but there would be a lot of interest for him. I think he would be perfect for our RW spot. Scores goals, creates, works hard to get back and support defence, good player.

I personally think he should stick to full back. He's OK in the air, not slow, will get a bit more time there so his first touch doesn't need to be as good and he can use his engine. From what I've seen he's just not good enough to nail down a spot in a good team anywhere else.

I agree about the full back position Keith but he's versatile which managers want you to be these days.

Born in Durham. I've also met him watching a Lad's game up here on more than one occasion so there's clearly a connection for him even if Leeds is probably his club.

Of course NC is a local lad and very well though of up here too.
Djed Spence could be a good addition too from Spurs if Cirkin leaves and we don't take up the option to sign Geertrudra.

Can play RB or LB by the looks of things.

I know a few Spurs lads and they all say Spence is a bad apple. No doubt he's a good player though.

The stats Xhaka v Gray over the whole season are absolutely staggering mind (see bold) 😂

Xhaka has played a lot more Premier League football but even taking that into account it's mind blowing. Xhaka has played just over 2500 minutes Gray just under 1,500.

Gray doesn't seem to like the ugly stuff. Duals won, aerial duals, tackles and blocks are nothing short of appalling. Xhaka has around 4 times more in each of those categories! This is against a 33 year old who's legs have gone (😉)

Xhaka:
  • Passes (Completed %)
    1,546 (83%)
  • Long Passes (Completed %)
    218 (54%)
  • Corners Taken
    52

  • Dribbles (Completed %)

  • Aerial Duels Won
    53

Defence

  • Total Tackles
    45
  • Interceptions
    26
  • Blocks
    17

Gray:

Possession

  • Passes (Completed %)
    537 (83%)
  • Long Passes (Completed %)
    52 (40%)

I doubt you’ll see us signing many from this country unless it’s youth players from lower league or a free transfer. We clearly focusing more on the European markets.
