Europe next season would be bad for us

Not if its at the expense of premier league status.
That's the point. Relegation is an absolute disaster. Not playing in the shitty conference league is not.
Genuine question, cos I don’t know the answer, but will be surprised if it backfires. In the last 10 years, how many teams that have qualified for Europe have been relegated the season after?

The conference league is an absolutely shite competition and I'd rather we didn't compete in it anyway. What's the point in playing some shit team from Latvia with a ground capacity of 5 thousand.? Shamrock Rovers and Hamrun Spartans? This is not a proper European trophy man.
Only football snobs like the Mags would turn their noses up at a European competition. It would give us a chance to blood players that otherwise wouldn't get much game time.

The squad wasn’t developed enough for the Premier League a year ago. You try to do the best you can at the level you’re at & adapt the best possible way.

It’s absolutely mental that some people are saying they don’t want to be more successful than we are now cos they’re scared of not being as successful in future.
Agree

Roma, Feyenoord, West Ham, Fiorentina, Olympiakos, Chelsea and Real Betis have competed in the finals. If it’s good enough for them, it certainly is for a club that has won a single trophy in 90 years.
I don't care who competes in it. It's meaningless because you qualify for it by finishing in about 6th or 7th place. What does it even mean? Maybe they'll create another competition called the Europa Community, Takeaway Vase for teams that finish 9th or 10th, too.

You get in The Champions League for finishing 5th would you turn your nose up at that as we weren’t Champions?

I'd rather consolidate and finish higher next season than stretch ourselves too thin with the result being league form suffers and we risk dicing with relegation.,
That's the opposite of success.
Everyone wants SAFC to do well and be the best they can but it's better to do it in a managed and sustainable way.
That was rolled out before promotion and was proven to be wrong. Have you actually thought that Europe may actually help us get better, attract players and grow more quickly.

Been said a lot over the years. Some sections of support scared to dream big.

How can it be meaningless. You do well in the top league in your country & you qualify for a cup that about 95% of the other teams aren’t allowed to compete it.

It’s literally an award for doing well

Yeah but you have to draw the line somewhere. Would it be okay to have a fourth tier European trophy for finishing 9th and 10th? If not, why not?

European football would be fantastic for the club and supporters.
Anyone who argues otherwise must think our ownership would try to do it without strengthening the squad both in terms of depth and quality.
They would be so wrong.
