Europe next season would be bad for us

Crystal Palace have just qualified for the semi finals after beating Fiorentina over two legs & having a few days in Florence.

Might as well drop out of the league cup & fa cup in case we draw Grimsby or Crewe

The squad wasn’t developed enough for the Premier League a year ago. You try to do the best you can at the level you’re at & adapt the best possible way.

It’s absolutely mental that some people are saying they don’t want to be more successful than we are now cos they’re scared of not being as successful in future.

is it ?, or is it just a natural progression, i think we could handle the conference league as is, Europa League maybe a bit difficult, but with the right transfers in the summer, no reason, why we can't join the rest of the top half fighting for a european place.

Latvia is a nice country i would love a couple of days over there watching Sunderland.

Spot-on. We could go out in the qualifiers but surely if we progressed, the confidence would build?

Yeah, to be honest, father Jack, if we aren't fighting to get into europe, or going after a trophy then, what's the point of it, we spend 10 years in the premier league last time, and got a cup final out of it, sure, we got bent over by city, but, hey, at half time, that day, i thought we were going to finally win a trophy, we basically know, that unless we get the same sort of money as city, and the rules, change, the top of the league is a closed shop, as Aston Villa are finding out, so what does that leave us, the conference league, domestic cup runs, and maybe top 6 and Europa league, i think if a club like forest, can and villa can, then why can't we.

Roma, Feyenoord, West Ham, Fiorentina, Olympiakos, Chelsea and Real Betis have competed in the finals. If it’s good enough for them, it certainly is for a club that has won a single trophy in 90 years.
 
I'm proper f***ing sick of hearing this like. I want SAFC to be the best version of itself it can be.

Why would you not want to see us play in Europe? Even the Conference League. Thousands of Mackems descending on some goat field in Eastern Europe playing a team no one has ever heard of. It'd be mint man.

Who says it would be at the expense of that? No-one gone down after competing in it.

That’s the point for me. Why think worst case scenario? You could say the same about a cup run but Leeds wouldn’t swap their season for ours today.
 
Cant pick and choose when we play in Europe, play well enough it'll come at some point. Wanting to dodge competitions is crackers, since the cups are the only thing we ever have a hope in hell of winning.
Palace have a decent chance of winning a euro trophy and with it automatic entry into the next years europa, who wouldn't want that.

Exactly mate. There’s one (soon to be two) statue outside of our ground and it’s for winning a trophy, it’s not of Reidy for finishing 7th.
