Diarra lately

Could be this. I can’t decide whether last night was just a calamitous one off or something else.

At first I thought the players had just really underestimated Forest. A lovely warm night, playing a side struggling in the league, we just need to turn up and roll them over….. but who knows.
Forest been playing better of late. Europa League semi final and have pulled away from the relegation lot a little.

I said prior to the game I expected it to be a tough match and Forest would be bang up for it as those points would pretty much see them over the line and they'd fancy a shot at us.

Would have to question the the players mindset if they underestimated them based on league position.

I dont know whst Sadiki is worth but then looney tunes on here were trying to convince me Neil was 25 million player last year🤣
Problem is no one really has a value like they did in the past as players go for absolute random amounts and for ridiculous prices all the time.

Son people try to equate if this player is worth such amount then out player must be worth such amount.

Ultimately you are worth as much as another team is willing to pay for you.

Best example is Archie Grey. He went for about 40 million, was unproven but young and British so adds some value.

After that everyone used that as a benchmark but the reality was Spur massively overpaid and they've been absolutely woeful into he transfer market to boot.

Nowt against Grey who looks a good player but definitely wasn't worth that at the time and I doubt any other club would have been offering anything near that.

But in a time period where clubs have billionaire owners often the money doesn't matter to them.

grey looks a bargain compared to diarra if am honest

Really hope a Saudi side come in for him
The only chance we have of getting our money back or close to. He hasn't got a football brain, doesn't know when to pass it, and even when he does it's either overhit or underhit. Absolutely shite, his 2 goals v Burnley were lucky anarl, as was his pen at Leeds. Would rather play Ba, and i'm not even joking. £30m ffs

I like sadiki and think he will turn out to be a quality midfielder in the future

However, people thinking clubs are going to pay 60/80 million for a midfielder that isn’t a defensive midfielder and somebody that carries very little attacking threat is complete fantasy like. It simply isn’t going to happen

If he can somehow add goals/ assists to his game then quite possibly in the future but for now he’s light years off a 60 million quid midfielder
Sadiki couldn’t finish a bar of chocolate Diarras final ball also needs a lot of work! Apart from that these two lads work their socks off and is their first time in the worlds premier league with the best defenders! They need tine to develop and let’s not forget Diarra had a bad injury and they were both away for afcon!

I like Sadiki and Diarra but when you add Xhaka to what is probably accepted as Le Bris preferred midfield three there’s just not enough goal threat or creativity.

Sadiki seems to have absolutely no confidence when presented with shooting opportunities, Diarra is similar. As the deeper lying player of the three Xhaka’s opportunities are fewer but I’d have expected a player of his quality to have scored more than one by late April.

This is where our fanbase can be embarrassing at times. Always have to have someone to boo and get on the back of. Diarra gets far too much stick - he's only young, first season in a new league after having a pretty bad injury and ruining all of his preparation and he's getting criticised to hell despite doing little wrong. He's a very good runner and compliments our midfield very well. We've spent years crying out that our striker is always alone in the box, that we don't get midfield runners in and now we have a lad who can do that. No-one else in our squad gets near to having his chance in Villa. Yes, his final product needs to improve, but it will with time and he has all of the useful attributes to be a very strong PL footballer in time.

Some people seriously need to have a look at themselves. It's not as if Enzo has been pulling up trees recently anyway, and he was much poorer central than out wide earlier in the season himself. And without Enzo wide, who plays out there? As all of our wingers have been pretty poor all said.

Rather play Ba 😂 😂 😂 😂 Thank fuck you're not the manager of Sunderland although don't completely discount your abilities there could be a job available up the road soon!!!

Think angulo is going be a good signing and when roefs only has Rigg or le fee to hit from goal kicks this is causing issues ! Traore also had a better physical presence just can’t see Rigg holding that position down or le fee!

In the future maybe, but he isn't ready to be a starting left winger for a PL side at this stage. Traore is very average but gets better the longer he's injured - most likely makes him our best wide option though. But both are injured so not really relevant to Regis' decisions at present anyway.

The amount of shooting opportunities xhaka passes up on to pass into the box is ridiculous like

This must be being coached into them because we barely ever shoot for some reason and always opt for the extra pass which never f***ing works anyway

Diarra had 90 appearances for Strasbourg and 9 goals, 4 for Senegal. Doesn't read like a number 10. So he's a number 8 shoehorned into a system. He won't score a lot, never will. So what next?

This is is a myth, perpetuated on here. Every club’s fans have a whinge and a moan. Arsenal fans have at Madueke, Newcastle at Elanga, Tottenham were at Johnson (before he left), just off the top of my head.

Every time we have a poor performance we have this, suggesting Sunderland fans are different or worse to fans of other clubs. We aren’t, at all.

It’s not even like his work rate is higher than le fees either and le fee certainly isn’t a winger so shouldn’t be shunted out wide to accommodate Diarra
I'm still not convinced Diarra is playing in his best position. He looks like a box-to-box runner to me, not a creative attacking mid. If anything, him and Sadiki should be fighting for a place and we need more quality around Brobbey.
Agreed. He doesn’t have the passing ability or anything else really to be a number ten so he certainly shouldn’t be played there

in his defence every player le bris has played in that “number 10”‘role has looked pure shite like. It’s just an absolute waste of time
