Thoughts on last night

I'm like a wounded animal this morning that was a horror show.

We looked ok at the start before conceding the OG, I mean that goal in itself was ridiculous enough but then then second was even worse.

So unexpected by Roefs who has been solid all season but that killed us. Forest were good but we just fell apart.

Horrible to watch and totally out of sink with how we have performed in the main this season. I felt bad after Villa but that was away to a team in a Champions League position. This is far worse.

Discussion in the car heading home was more about we expected a tanking or two earlier on in the season and that was before the season had started.

The fact that our biggest loss for ages happened at the end of April was the only crumb of comfort we could find.

Shit happens , we move on.

Le Fee was our best player and not sulking

Hume, Alderete and Mukiele were constantly out of position, Xhaka completely lost it, Diarra was hopeless, Rigg weak as piss and Brobbey was a liability. Roefs turned in a memorable performance as one of the worst goalkeeping displays in recent years.

They all just looked completely off. Like a different team than we’ve seen lately.

If the team that went to Villa turned up last night we’d have been fine.

In all honesty, the preparation for next season starts now. Objective achieved, it we can finish around 10th it’s a bonus.

Alot of this is true but that first half is inexcusable. The coach just stood there and didn't react and the players gave up.

When we went to man united he changed it early when it clearly wasn’t working. Not sure why he stood and let us get ripped to shreds for 45 minutes before doing anything.
I got back to Hull at 11:05, I could have waited to watch us lose 5:0 and got back at 12:50 which is normal for an 8 kick off midweek. It just made so much sense, you know I generally don’t go to midweek games as I left at halftime so did so many others. Each to their own.

Ooooft you’ll get torn apart by the firestick fans on here.

It's fair enough saying Regis was out-thought, but what could he realistically do about it til half time?

Ya go a goal or two down and you try to ride it out til the reset, but instead we have 5 mad minutes and concede 3. Game over. The manager can't really legislate for that and the players were shell shocked.

Thier manager looked confident as fuck in the pre match interview like. They had us on toast for 30 mins and we had no answer.

Not happy with Nordi and his bairn like petulance at getting a few boos for what was an abject performance (not just him mind)

Damning stats defensively since that Vulcano fella left the building ?...🤔

Its a bit poor to continue passing it out when we are getting pressed and losing it around the box every time. He said the players were naive. He should have been saying to just go a bit more compact and direct for 5 minutes

Forest were fighting for their lives and were excellent. Their front three were termendous - Hutchinson and Gibbs-White were tremendous and Woods was like Brobbey with an added goal threat. Anderson is as good a midfielder as you'll see in the Premier League. Our front three - Le Fee looks like he's sulking because he doesn't want to be playing out wide, Rigg looks too light weight and Brobbey is just constantly isolated. I'm not sure what Diarra is supposed to be doing but whatever it is, he isn't. He simply doesn't do enough to warrant selection. We need Le Fee in the number 10 and two speedy wingers ouitside. Otherwise we will never get the best out of Brobbey.

However, the biggest thing was that their manager out thought Le Bris. Its something Le Bris has done before but last night we had no answer. Their press was tremendous and they knew exactly what we were going to do with each play, especially the pass out to the FB. Other teams will look at that and have a go at nullfiying is in the same way. It really was a wake up and we need to show an intelligence to change and vary our play. The other obeservation was that a few times we were breaking fast when Roefs had the ball in his hands and he chose not to launch it. We need to vary the play sometimes. Hopefully, Le Bris and his team are reviewing how easy it was for Forest to disrupt our game plan.

Oh, and I'm still pissed off with all the leavers, it was embarrassing. Some even went at 3-0.

Did I- Stay till the end..... or
Did I - Leave early?

Guess what.... Youll never know what I did because you and your opinion are completely irrelevant to me.

What is embarrassing is.
Idiots like you thinking its embarrassing.

People pay good money to do as they please.

Its called - Choice.

See you down Wolves on Saturday to discuss further if you fancy a beer

Route 1 wasn't working either. Brobbey was absolutely dominated last night.

Not necessarily up to brobbey but could try and at least win the 2nd balls of the long ball, which we didn't do all night. Could have went to the wings quicker rather than pass around the edge under clear pressure. Just get the ball out of danger for 5 minutes and win the 2nd balls.

Its not impossible to play against. Other teams manage.

Got to play, players in their best position for starters. What’s done is done, learn and move on. Shit happens.

Regarding their press, as impressive as it was. People saying we were sussed we should have been launching it. As you say Brobbey was isolated so. That wouldnt have worked. Yes Roefs messed up for their second but, he’d already shown we could bypass their forward oress with two lovely balls into MF for Sidiki , who was relatively unmarked , but on both occasions instead of spinning 180d and starting an attack, he played a blind pass to Alderete that put us straight on the vbsck foot. Am not having a pop at him. Am just saying that we weren’t up for it and our passing game that has beat other teams oress on Manu occasions this season was well below par. For me it’s not a case of binning it , it’s more an end if season attitude issue with some of our players. I agree about Diarra , he isn’t doing enough to justify negating le fe by playing him wide. I’d also like to say that Rheinaldo defensively looked a much better option that Hume as a left back when he came on.

We don’t win a 2nd ball all night. Lots of individual errors, bad attitudes, not doing the basics and being outfought after the first 15 mins.
Forest worked really hard and got their tactics right, we didn’t adapt.
Best atmosphere for ages though, despite the boos on each whistle.

Agree. I said after 5 mins last night their press is very good here. In which case we should have immediately gone direct to Brobbey and got bodies around him, and push Le Fee and Rigg high and wide to get down the sides of their back 3. He did nowt.
