I'm in both camps, we need to get away from this How much !? Thing. Music city etcThe general consensus is, I’ll included by self in this too, is ticket prices feel a bit on the high side. If they announced a few decent supports it might be more palatable. But at the minute, as someone with a passing interest I’ll not bother. Embrace is the same the night before.

As I’m a regular gig goer, I can pretty much spot value over “a name” now. I suppose these types of events aren’t aimed at regulars to Pop Recs, Independent, Cluny & the Grove. Looking at the Facebook comments you’ll get a load more one gig a year gig goers to get smashed at an event rather than seeing a particular band.I'm in both camps, we need to get away from this How much !? I remember trying to do own material gigs in Sunderland in the 90s and at £3 on the door with support bands you got people twisting and mates wanting to be in for nowt
I don't like either band but Ocs are bigger than Embrace and the comments seems positive on post I saw . It looks like outside promoters have spotted our new Status and coming to see if it's a goer . Keel square stuff too . Bit like the Pub scene . Do we want one or do we want Coors £2 all day .

Like the Sol gigs, it's a day out for people who are crap at music quizzes . I imagine knocking a stage up and bogs and bars etc has a cost an existing venue doesn't.As I’m a regular gig goer, I can pretty much spot value over “a name” now. To be fair, whilst I’ve got a passing interest in the bands announced so far, they’re not aiming the events at me. Think I’ll give Peat & Diesel a miss. £35 in the Parade Ground, think it was about half the price at the Peacock.
Me too. not too fussed on the venue though.Got presale this morning![]()
Just checked the price of the ticket for the gig they did 10 year ago, for the release of Blisters, at Allington House, Durham - £6!Martha (best band in the world) playing Gosforth Civic on 19 Sept. Tickets just gone on sale.
Plenty older folks in hall 2 for LYR as well. I enjoyed it.Lyr were very good last night at sage 2. Never been in sage 2 and I found it a lovely little venue with very good acoustics. Alfie Boe was on in Sage 1 and I have never seen so many elderly women in one concert hall in my life![]()

What’s that venue like mate? Taking the wife (no) to see China Crisis for her birthday on Friday. Treating her 3 weeks later to SFA at Brixton Academy for mineMartha (best band in the world) playing Gosforth Civic on 19 Sept. Tickets just gone on sale.
I really like it. Very handy for the Metro, plenty of free street parking out the back. Nice bar/merch area, usually 1 or 2 decent beers on. Sound and lighting is excellent. Banked seating is good, though I think CC is standing(?).What’s that venue like mate? Taking the wife (no) to see China Crisis for her birthday on Friday.
