BBC Football Focus to end

What do you think? I'm in me 50's and haven't watched it for ages and when I did I always thought it was all about the "top clubs" with the occasional handout to another club and was always thrilled when it was Sunderland.

So no damage to me but can't help thinking, like Top of the Pops, the Beeb is retreating from pop culture and it gets me in the feels.

Its years since I've watched it. If it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't have known it was still on. Plenty choice of football podcasts on YouTube/Spotify etc these days.

Never watch it but to blame woke womens football is crazy. Would we still watch Saint and Greavsie in 2026? Things change and media outlets must keep updating or their whole channel dies.

The only way match of the day will survive is if they cut down the analysis (not remove completely but trim right down), and put it on much earlier.

Having it on at 10:30pm is useless and those who want to watch highlights will have been on youtube long before then. I'm one of those, but if match of the day was at say 7:30 i'd probably just wait for that

The BBC would rather kill and institution than go back to more popular formats? Makes sense...

If the BBC wants to survive then it should be ditching football completely bar international games. It's just a complete waste of money and you can get stuff online since it's not the 70's anymore.

MOTD should be moved online imo. Just get a pundit to do the analysis immediately after the game and stick it straight online. If they want to keep a 10.30pm show aswell, then fair play. It's pretty much dead tv time then anyway.
