Season ticket waiting list

Spoke to a girl at the TO whilst trying to sort Chelsea tickets.

Apparently all the STs are sold out. There may be some that become available after the first direct debit.

Was really desperate for a ticket for the bairn - he'll be gutted.

As folk have said getting kids new season tickets now is going to be brutal.

Then if you cant buy a seat on sale youre looking at what £44 on resale as no kids prices!

Wouldn't they make a huge song and dance about that? 1. so people know. But two it's a big thing for the club to have sold out two years running!

I managed to get two season tickets again after missing this season. Eight rows back in the corner and not as good as my old seats but at least we are back. I emailed the club about the circumstances I lost my seats this season but never got any response. I was just asking if my old seats were not renewed could I have first dibs (for those not aware I was in a coma missing renewal date and have ended up missing our first year back in the premier league despite having seats for the last twenty years).

I didn’t even get told I was in phase one, I just punted on logging in and seeing if I could buy them. I must say the ticket operation at the club has been bad for years, going back to when we went down to league one. They really need more staff answering emails and taking phone calls.
Really sorry to hear and hope you're back to full fitness.
You may be aware of my situation last year (34 years a ST holder, cancelled my daughters but they cancelled mine as well etc), I also asked if I could be at the front of the queue only to be told it wouldn’t be fair on people in the queue. It appears I wasn’t put in the list at all and another season I’ll be missing.

I’m going to sack the club off completely and go to watch Shields, I think.

One thing I will say to folk is, be careful what you put on here as it’s clearly monitored - I put too much on slagging them off as was gutted and, like PH, I believe it became personal.

Demand is high now. The club is being more aggressive arguably on sale of tickets and corporate but that's where we are now. I suspect most PL clubs just as, if not more, ruthless.

That’s sh!t mate. I remember you saying what a feck up it was. I just don’t think they give anyone authority to make decisions. How’s it fair that you miss out due to their incompetence? It’s fair that they put you at the top of the list for amends to their mistake.

Its a worry for the longer term as we need to keep having new youngsters at matches to preserve the club.

Of course club owners come and go, so they really don't need to look that far ahead.

You are right, but at the same time they are trumpetting about the connection with the fans and the City, its looking more and more like a false narrative.

There's absolutely no chance

Unless a bunch of scammers have bought them.

There were absolutely loads of blocks for sale at 18:15 I went downstairs and 18:20 nearly every block was sold out. Moments later you couldn't see the map at all and the sold out waiting ticket message came back.

There was well over single 100 tickets in SEC which can't be purchased without purchasing a junior ticket.

So how could they have all been shifted in a few mins. Feels like something has gone wrong and they will have been told to say it's sold out if anyone asks.

That really is hard to believe, there appeared to be quite a lot still available after a while yesterday, then suddenly in an instant they were replaced with the sold out message on the ticketing site.

Only limited people could purchase them too.

I could be wrong, but I still have my suspicions the site will re-open and more will be available.

When the site went down there was still tickets left so someone is telling porkies
I think what you saw with 92 left is an error as well.

Was boat loads at 6ish when they stopped appearing on sale.

You were getting some cached page.

As I said all of a sudden blocks disappeared which is probably when you went on saw just the 92 left and the page was cached for you after 8pm

I sat next to a Leeds season ticket holder on the train to Birmingham yesterday he was going to Exeter he says Leeds only have 23000 season ticket holders so they can fleece the membership scheme with high ticket prices. Even still selling £50 membership for cup semi with a slim chance of ballot for a ticket .He was flagged for a id check for a home game he went to ticket office they said he was under the influence of drink ban him for 3 homes relisted hes ticket for £55 per game. Modern day prem football customers not Fans the bloke was in hes late 50s
It's part of the reason why they get £30m in revenue from 36k fans, even when they were in the Championship in 2023/24.

Our equivalent of 23k STs in a 36k capacity would be 30k STs and charging the rest of the ground match day prices. Their pricing structure is also different and overall higher than ours.

If we have any level of sustained top flight footy then I hope we expand or else we'll go down the same route as the club may not put all seats up for renewal, on top of changing the concessions (as they've already done).

Their prices are not too much different to ours really.

I see they have an 80% minimum attendance rule

I'm sure I've replied to you about this before as we're nowhere near them as it's £709 for the cheapest adult when you ignore the family stand (probably need a bairn) or the small purple sections at the back of the east stand.

Their North & South is £709 compared to our £550 loyal renewals which will be the majority of renewals. Look at the prices of their 18+ prices as they don't have an U22 band like us. They charge £504 compared to £260 for ours. Their OAP prices are way higher and our U14s are £95 and Leeds is £198.

A parent taking their young bairn the last few seasons would be paying £907 to ours paying £645 so over £250 cheaper. Anyone wanting to sit in the orange seats in East/West wings is paying £855 yet our E/W wings are £660. Even the premium halfway seats in our East/West on halfway line are £715 so £140 cheaper as the Leeds price is 20% higher. There's more if you do a comparison as it's very much different and this is another part of the reason why they get the match day revenue they do.

All those who want a full stadium every game as empty seats looks shite on TV and they get upset by hurty words on social media obviously don't realise this is the shit that starts happening. I just didn't think we'd be milking the fans the way we have already. I will be posting about this later on as I've got the ST prices new fans are paying and it's clear what the club's intentions are if we stay in the Premier League. Even if we go down, we possibly come back up again and be met with the same shite as demand returns.

This all along about youngsters at matches and preserving the club.As a result of our 'success,' in gaining promotion to the Prem it is now becoming more and more difficult for supporters with young families who maybe can't afford season tickets, but want to attend occasional home games to obtain seats together.
Promotion to prem has cost fans in some ways.
I really don't like it

I was thinking maybe they've held some back for people who contacted them wanting to downgrade as someone in the club finally saw sense. The club know they have plenty of time to sell any that would be left after allowing downgrades. Though if they do that then they're in a no win situation as plenty others would have wanted to downgrade but haven't been given the option.

Why they didn't just say "We're delaying ST sales for new customers for a couple of days while we sort out the mess we made to allow downgrades" is baffling but then again, those in charge are clearly wanting to maximise profit no matter what the consequences for fans.

They don’t need to bang that drum now the demand is back

Nail on the head for me. It's starting to look more and more like they are moving the club to be the ruthless, money making machine as all the other established Premier League clubs. Yet all the talk is the club representing the values and characteristics of the city and its people.

Both could be true and they may argue it's what is needed to progress the club and push us to be a top club. However, I would argue whose benefit is that for? Because it's not for the normal people of Sunderland to who the club means most if they are priced out from being there.

I warned on here not that long ago, that when people were praiseworthy of the club for being ruthless with regard to staff and players in the name of progress (Speakman for Ghisolfi, Neil for Xhaka) it would not be long before they did the same with supporters. Seemingly, that has already begun.

Yeah I can't see how there are absolutely zero left - doesnt make sense to me at all.

I hope (and think actually) that you're right.

Delicate balance to be struck though, for one were a newly promoted side peoples memories are long and if we went down say next season the way we’ve treat “customers” as that’s what clubs see us as now won’t go well when we’re trying to flog expensive season cards back in the second tier. Also given the world we live in where it costs £100+ to fill your car and everything is expensive not to mention we’re Sunderland in one of the worst hit areas in the uk while season tickets are still decent value against other clubs it’s still a hell of a lot of money and no payments for new cards is a bit shit. It really is the worst aspect of the club that they don’t seem to be learning from. I’m all for the club trying to capitalise on the feel good factor I’ve been suckered into buying way too much training gear but there’s a balance I feel we get right in some aspects regarding tickets and badly wrong in others.
