2-3 yrs time?...

2 of their subs got a goal and an assist aswel. In general, Villa are ahead of us as a club and a squad imo.
Yes. That goes without saying. But on Sunday it was the first XI that did the damage. Our bench had a better impact than theirs. 2 goals.

I was talking about squad depth tbh kike, they had better options on the bench than us in general. They had a goal and an assist from 2 of their subs, 2 of their players contributed aswel.

They have a very good manager, and a few years ahead of us in the premier league to mould and recruit their squad. I was in a corporate box for the game thanks to a mates dad, perks of living in Brum. Obviously majority were Villa except me and two others. Very complimentary to us at the end, to think this is our first season up there. We have been magnificent so far, so f***ing proud to support the lads.

There’s such an imbalance in the league financially that a good solid run such as Villa is having is hard to keep up. Each season there’s a team that makes a solid run for the top 4/5 and then they fade in the ensuing seasons.
I’m no conspiracy theorist but it seems the league and Sky want certain clubs at the top.

I hear you. Subconscious or not there will be a narrative thar gets pushed to favour a certain storyline. Soft fixing I think some are calling it. Here Bill Burr talks aboit low key rigging. With accusation if exactly this occurring in NBA NFL

Saying that though, looks like we havie been making waves in right pools and making sure all our sibscriptions are up to date. As we are getting more favourable coverage of late. Everyone can see what we bring to table. Power Colour Passion. And we are becoming the nations favourites just from being the default enemy to the Saudi Soul Selling Satan skunks.

It’s crucial we keep a hold of our players and upgrade the fringe.
If you want to progress you can’t be selling your best players. Not at this stage in our journey. End of next season maybe one but you need to build.
If the likes of Sadiki Roefs brobbey le fee Nordi or Xhaka leave it’s going to cause a big hole.

The likes of Talbi, Angulo, traore, Rigg, Wilson, Mayenda need to be squad players to push on.
Hard to say that but it’s true. Love Wilson as well.
No idea what Mayenda’s next steps are.

Your post was in two parts. One about 2-3yrs time whereby we have their depth. The other about it being the difference yesterday. It wasn’t. It was the 3-1 lead they had before any sub was made that was the difference. Our bench had a bigger impact than theirs.

Yes, the options Emery had available on their bench compared to Harrison Jones for example on ours. Their subs made a similar impact....they combined to get the winner.

Villa are probably now the 6th of the "big 6", although its probably turned too a 5 now. They need too start regularly qualifying for champions league and win a few trophies to make that step. For us, the next 2-3 years has to be looking at consistently finishing top 10 and challenging for Europe. That's why for me, if we could get there, we grab it with both hands. European qualification, especially consistent over a couple years, elevates the club to the next level. People and players start looking at us in a different manner and have a different view of us. That's what then makes you a "big club". Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and probably now Villa, I can see them being the top 6 for a few years now. We need to make sure we're then consistently in the next group and regularly in Europe. Amazing to be having these conversations when trips to Fleetwood and Accrington are still pretty fresh in the memories.

Part of the reason I so desperately want us to qualify for the conference league - we’d be in with a half decent chance of winning it! Which then gets to Europa league the following season.
