We weren’t outclassed

Glass Half Full

Reserve Squad
We had arguably a better first half than Villa. They were better second half overall. We never gave up, scored 2 late goals when we’d been written off yet again. We could’ve won it but they did, because same as us, they never gave up.

They are a great team but we were able to score 3 against them. We made mistakes, but so do Arsenal, so do Man City. We can’t expect our lads to be perfect and make the right split second decision every time, because the top teams don’t every time either. The fact that this game could’ve been 3 points to us today shows how far we have come and should give everyone encouragement. Villa are a top 4 team, established, in Europe this year fighting for a trophy and in a Champions League qualifying place and we matched them. Anyone can pick fault, but take a step back and see how far we’ve come. The lads deserve encouragement, not some of the grief they’re getting from some fans. We’re not mags you know!

We went in 2-1 down. At the risk of sounding like Lee Johnson, we were better between the boxes. But we created very little first half.

We found something towards the end. The character of the team has never been in question. They’ve grafted and delivered time and time again this season.

Diarra’s miss was horrific. Like it’s the simplest finish, or pass, you’ll ever see. We should be sat here in 6th.

But Diarra & 09, who are nowhere near the level required, cost us getting anything from that game.

What a load of shite. Easiest finish you'll ever see? Straight up garbage yer chatting fella. Rubbish.

Our own sloppiness costs us today nothing else

Yep, should have scored but then again strikers in top teams miss those chances sometimes.
Overall he had a decent game, did a lot of the donkey work and looked good going forward at times.

People on here saying he gets a pass for his defensive work as he plays as a second striker, yet time and time again he was getting the ball between our two centre halves.

He should have done better but describing it as the simplest finish or pass you'll ever see just hammers home how little you seem to know about football. Real trend in football nowadays the people who seem to understand the least talk the most

Haaland misses loads. Not like Diarra misses hatfuls of chances. I thought he was below par this game. Passing was not great. But he's getting a merciless slagging on social media. Horrible stuff.

Im definiteky in the glass half full gang after today

Because it shouldn’t be possible😂😂 the ball should be out of his reach.

Easy to say sitting and watching. The pass to Talbi was the right decision. But in the moment he's tried to chip him. It's an absolutely brilliant save as well by the way...

Agreed it's a poor decision from Diarra, but people scapegoating him or calling him "shite" because of one bad decision are thick as mince...

1st half we were the better side I thought, but they were more clinical in the box. 2nd half we restarted slowly and they scored another early goal.

Motto for this season has been ‘Til the End’ and it’s rang true. We never gave up, didn’t capitulate and brought it back level. We’d never have done that last time we were in the PL. Proud of the team, but absolutely gutted at the result.
