SAFC - Fan Ban & Ticket Cancellations

One things for sure, what an absolute fuck on getting to away days nowadays!

Is absolutely right mate -

Tell you what, there was no "closed shop brigade" for Cardiff away 1st game of last season at a 12-30pm KO or Plymouth or Bristol C, some of the self-entitlement going on in here is unreal.
People accusing other people of all sorts and saying how wide-spread things are, absolute rubbish!!!

I was at Newcastle away the other week, on my own ticket I add!!!!

And I saw all the usual old school faces from years gone by. Some people saying how massively widespread people passing tickets on is.... Ha.

Im sure I will see the usual faces at Villa tomorrow......

Johnny come latelys twisting on 21....

I was at the Newcastle game, courtesy of having enough BCPs.
Yes I saw lots of old hands but was surprised how many fans I saw that don't normally go to away games.

Give it a rest man.

Thankfully I get to most away days through having enough BCPs as well so will probably know you.

Next season demand will drop off, facts, and god forbid we did have a plummet, the closed shop brigade from whom it seems we are not part of will finally disband....

Honestly mate , reading your first statement to club you shouldn’t have to apologise to them at all in this , in fact people like yourself are the lifeblood of the club and they should be bending over backwards to help you and the lads and lasses you have supported.

A truly bizarre and crazy situation, hopefully someone higher up will care enough to sort it out, the people who have made this decision will be long gone before you know it and you will be back supporting the lads, it will always leave a bitter taste and I admire how you have handled this with so much dignity, absolute shame on the staff involved and they have no place in this great club

Always impressed with this old faces / new faces debate.

I’ve done all but 2 aways this season, with a similar strike rate in the preceding 4 years, & generally don’t take much notice of anyone else if I don’t already know them (I’ve not lived in Sunderland in 50 years).

And out of 3k that’s quite a majority. Maybe I’m just anti-social (though I’ve probably cuddled a few of you on occasion )

The people moaning about a closed shop will crawl back into woodwork should relegation happen. The same wood they crawled out of in August.

The club will have banned or pissed off the loyal lads with bans and refusals to allow to downgrade from corporate leaving the anywhere and everywhere brigade falling rapidly. This is the big shame. Not the PL & not the new rules but self sabotage from the club we all love.

People who have had facelifts who've been going for years. Are they old faces or new faces ?

Just stating a fact.
Half a dozen from the row I stand in at home had tickets for the mags game away yet don't go to away games.
The good news is I will only be losing 5 points after the cull as I was unable to travel but will still end up with 40 points. Gerin

Despite many of these people who are making this point having season tickets throughout the League One days and attending many away games each season...

Half a dozen, so are you joining the "widespread brigade now" Leave it man, its been done to death.

You sound similar to me, points-wise. Concentrate on yourself and stop worrying about others like some on here

Did you ask them how? I’m genuinely curious in what type of people ARE going to away games sufficiently to get 50+ points, but are then deciding to give the Mags match a miss.

Not sure what getting at here @AC Mack

Ive had season ticket long way before Lg 1 and comfortably in Phase 1 and will be for next season from the beginning.

Depends if you and Barney are criticising me for complaining about a closed shop. I had a season ticket throughout the league one and championship seasons, as well as this season. I went to dozens of away games during those seasons, but right now I'm only on 20-something points and getting away tickets this season has been harder than ever.

I really hope that doesn't make me a 'Johnny come lately' or 'crawling back into the woodwork'.

The point is there were loads of games over the 3 years in Championship that went to general sale to allow people to build up points but the games, opposition and football werent attractive then.

Some claimed couldnt attend because of holidays, some because working, some because of illness and some because mowing next doors lawn. Those problems dont seem to exist now with people moaning about away allocations. When @SAFC2012 was helping the club shift tickets.

For what its worth getting tickets this season is a doddle and easy as last year and year before. Phase 1 guaranteed a ticket so take time and choose. But then again I got the points by going to Cardiff 1230, Preston in cup, Swansea before Christmas, Norwich midweek and so on.

I’ve read it twice & still don’t understand.

How have they got 6 tickets if not from people who DID have the required points (given that guys never go)? Sorry - I’ve obviously missed something.
Got what you mean now, I thought you meant I did not go.
No I idea how they acquired their tickets it's not something I am worried about, as I mentioned earlier it something of a surprise to see them.

But that isn't my argument. As I say I attended dozens of League One and Championship away games, and now we're in the Premier League I get to far fewer. That said, Cardiff at 12.30 or Norwich midweek simply isn’t possible for some of us - it's not just a 'claim'. The problems haven't suddenly gone away now that we're in the Premier League - they've always been there.

Reading some of the comments in this thread make me feel like my argument is pretty much being turned on its head, which I find odd.

You have the exact amount of points you have earned. If you'd gone to more home cup games and more aways in over the last 3 seasons you'd have a lot more. Really not sure what point you're making because you're miles away from the 40 point cut off for a lot of games this season.

I've been to dozens and dozens of away games but not in the last 10 years. It's a total non argument.
