Pickford did keep ten clean sheets in a row in the championship for Preston.

Really, it would be the best if Roefs were here for another two seasons (unlikely) and give Young a chance to play through the leagues. Hopefully culminating in him being ready for the PL.
 
I'm not sure I see an obvious landing spot on the Championship, though there's definitely a chance for him to find a loan move there.

Someone like Sheff Wed would be interesting for me. A big club who will have an expectant fan base in league one despite having a lot of work to do to turn things around and likely starting with a huge deficit. Plenty of different challenges for him to overcome.

The video on here is the most I've seen of him thus far but i cant see anything that would suggest he couldnt play in the championship . Bit bigger and more impactful forwards perhaps but other than that ? . Havent seen much of his play with the ball at his feet either and thats probably more important in the championship .

He isn't a reserve, he's playing week in week out, has many, many clean sheets, MotM awards and a fully checkable history of nearly 2 seasons playing. Salford missed out on promotion last season because they dropped him. Their form was good, then very average and then good again when he was reinstated between the sticks.

He's gained many plaudids along the way the latest being on a 4 player short list for young player of the season in division 2. The other 3 players on the list are 21, Matty only 19, 20 in November. He has a fantastic pedigree. IMO he should already be first choice for England under 21's because he's head and shoulders above the likes of Beadle.

It’s not really though is it?

End of the day it’s football, if he’s excelling at 18 absolutely no reason why he couldn’t step up into the Championship next season.

Far too much emphasis is put on his age but if he’s the standard people are proclaiming he is then he will be fine.

Disagree. Take out his age and add how resilient and calm he is for his age. A newly promoted championship side should be happy to take him.
Watched around 10 games of his this season and one in person in Salford
