Swiss Coach Murat Yakin on Granit Xhaka

I’m on the border. Ö is basically my dialect
We met some Austrians, sounds as a pound and very friendly, when I was in Dortmund for EM in 24. My mates from Dortmund, after these lads had moved on, were trying to explain how it the dialect they spoke was "Bauernhof Deutsch". Meanwhile my cousin and me had sort of narrowed it down to something like a West Country style drawl being the English equivalent and showed them the Wurzels on YouTube. The Dortmund jungs thought that was hilarious.

Similar thing with the Swiss we met during 06 WM in Dortmund. At that point my German was limited to "Zwei bier bitte!", but even I knew listening to my friends speaking to them it was German "but not as we know it".

When asked whether the World Cup will be Xhaka’s ‘last dance’ with Switzerland, he said: “No, absolutely not. I can’t imagine that. As long as he’s in this kind of health, he’ll play as long as possible.”

“I also know that he’ll be moving on after the World Cup. I’m happy about that. He always has to be fit and physically at his peak.”

I do hope the part about him moving on after the World Cup has just been lost in translation and doesn't mean how it sounds.

To be fair the rest of the article doesn't refer back or question the intention so I'm fairly relaxed that he’s going nowhere

Except my heart is racing and I'm sweating and crying uncontrollably.
Don't worry he'll be playing for the lads for at least another 4 seasons after this 1. He is under our skin and we are under his it's a dictionary definition of a symbiotic relationship. I really think we will look back on this in many years to come as to when our rise as a giant in post millennium football started.
Let's get carried away man!!!!

My missus is from Somerset, went she’s blootered she sings about blackbirds and combine harvesters with yer yokel pals, let me tell you, after 48th time it’s far from hilarious!

Could only see him moving if KLD was selling up
What's that you say ? "Louis-Dreyfus is selling up" This confirms what I've heard (from the voices in my head) that he is selling to a consortium of Alan Shearer, Donald Trump, Kim Jong Un, Stewart Donald (and, of course, Charlie Methven), Ellis Short, Benjamin Netanyahu and Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, with Nigel Farage becoming the Chairman and Chief Executive, hence the recent links.

Thank god Ant & Dec aren't involved.

At the end of the day, he is probably one of the most effective players in his position in world football, super fit and a model pro....and that is even before we mention his impact in getting and extra 10% out of every teammate on the pitch.

I reckon he will go close to 200 caps!

From a selfish point of view we would want him to pack in playing or Switzerland. However, I saw an interview where he was praising Luka Modric for still playing international football in his late 30's. He's got just shy of 200 caps.

That could be good though because Modric is still playing at 40 so Granite might want to play on well after he's 35?
