SAFC in Europe...

Midfield
After the 73 Cup win we had 2 away games in Budapest and then Lisbon. I was reading that approx 300 to 400 fans went to each game, not sure how many if anyone went to both. Anyone off here part of this elite diminishing group?

I’d definitely go without tickets, could well be once in a lifetime chance - hopefully not though!

If the first away tie was Lisbon, how many do you realistically think would go?

I went to the Alkmaar game. Amsterdam was like drinking down the town. Every pub you went in you bumped into someone you knew. Imagine a real game in a nice city?

Would be interesting to see what the home attendances were like. Especially if we got a 5:45 Thursday night kick off.
I always thought they were the far east ones due to time difference. Do they have 5.45pm kick offs in central and western europe as well?

Yes. Villa played in France at 5.45 against Lille recently I think.

Theres definitely been English teams at home aswell then.

Certainly went to both home games . I don't really think it was a done thing then unless you had money . I didn't, I was only 15 .
Likewise I was at both home games, in the Fulwell loud and proud.
Same age as you and from Jarra also

Champions League games are Tuesday and Wednesday 😉

It'll be 8.00pm at the Camp Nou 🙄
@stan the man went to one game.

I was 6 and only a part timer.

One of my fondest ever lifetime memories going to see us play in Budapest 🥰

Dont think home games would be full tbh, unless it was in the CL
Before you ask, no the tickets won’t be £10

I think people will realise it could be a one off chance to see us in Europe. I was young and didn’t go to Roker last time around, thinking there would be many more.
If I’d known,
I’d have begged for the extra money they were charging.
