Abdoullah Ba

Anyone heard owt about this lad? Find it quite sad to be honest thinking about it...Club had enough faith in him to give him over 60 games for the club in the championship. He looked perpetually miserable though and obviously the fans never really took to him (would the the polite way of saying it) after his largely average to poor performances. After an absolute no impact loan to Ligue 2, now he's had only 45 minutes of u21s football all season. You have to wonder what becomes of his career now, if anything at all. I wonder if it was a case of moving country too young?

His song was class.

Seemed like a lovely lad who loved being here but wasn't one I ever rated on the pitch sadly. Our signing strategy around then was high risk / high reward lads from abroad and many didn't cut it.

It's a shame for lots of the lads who we simply out progressed quicker than we expected. Hopefully they get their careers back on track.

Shirt was too heavy for a few .

He f***ing was like
He was what, 18/19 when he signed , and started over 60 games for us in two seasons stepping us up to be a good championship club from a club that finished 5th in league one the year before.
Respect to any young lad making the move abroad at such a young age. We outgrew him, but he was instrumental in us being an established championship side.
Some of our fans need to show some humility.
Had talent, not the mentality

I don’t mean he was lazy just didn’t seem to be able to make good decisions in game or under pressure
He was a bairn, bought for less than a mil. Of course he wasn't the finished article and wasn't perfect

Yes, I know. I wasn’t having a go. I liked him, he made important contributions, but as we got better he couldn’t keep pace.

I agree with almost everything you say here, apart from the instrumental bit. He defo played a part though and hopefully his career can carry on after

A terrible signing. Take the hit and cancel his contract. Not in anyones interest for him to be either training with the under 21s or by himself. Hopefully signings like this are never repeated.

Mad that we've just give up on him
Aye there was Ba, Hemir and Bennette who were just completely frozen out.

The correct decision to replace them with better players, of course. At the time signing Browne, Mepham, Isidor etc. showed a change towards bringing in some experience, but they went from the first team to absolutely nowhere. Not even a place on the bench when at times we've had kids who've not made a first team appearance sat on there.

Bennette talked about some friction behind the scenes when it came to which players got game time and who had signed them, wonder if they're part of that?

All worked out well though so, like I say, overall the correct decisions were made. Hemir and Bennette accepted they just needed to get football. Who knows what the crack is with Ba.
