Abdoullah Ba

Spot on. Dobson was largely criticised because he ran funny.

He had all the tools but you could see his confidence go down by the week.

It was a horrible period and he didn’t stand up to it. I’m glad he’s recovered and found his feet again.

Which was completely baffling considering Henderson was criticised for exactly the same thing earlier in his career.

It must have been hard for him coming up here at that time. Probably the biggest club he'll ever play for, intense pressure to be promoted and he's getting laughed at.

I liked him, still do, obviously not within our catchment of players any more but I'll always keep an eye out for him.

Dobson was shite for us, let's not re-write history - he wasn't good at anything, never had a good game. Fair play to him for bouncing back though.

I wouldn't say he was shite for us. He wasn't Tommy Miller- esque for example where he went missing or a Milton Nunez where you could see within minutes he just wasn't good enough.

He never hid. He did the job he was asked to. Ok, it wasn't to a great standard. Probably because he's never been a defensive midfielder. He was a young lad being asked to do a job he'd never done before at the biggest club he'd ever play for in a tough league.

Surely that would never happen. Have all the money & get another paid job elsewhere?! Double bubble.

Who knows? Think it's a daft thing where clubs can't actually pay the full amount of a contract (say 52 weeks at £10,000 = £520,000) up, you have to offer a settlement or something which includes any appearance fees, loyalty, promotion, that sort of thing, bonuses etc that they could be due.

Ba could be due a promotion clause bonus that he's due hence why he won't end his contract here.

I miss the days of people trying to tell us this kid had talent
The players often referred to him and Roberts as the most naturally talented in terms of skill. He clearly has ability but doesn’t appear to have a footballing brain. That might come with games but not here.

All the tools, but Dobson couldn't pass beyond the end of his nose

He wasn't dreadful mind. Not in any sense of the word.
I really truly thought he was. I used to complain about him on here all the time. I thought he was terrible
My Dobson Posts
Dobson not getting the hook is a disgrace
Dobson does absolutely nothing that helps the team. Runs into space. Stops, then passes it backwards. IN INJURY TIME
Useless.
O'Brien's fear of shooting at goal is like the victorian era when they thought if you drove too fast your head would explode
Are you suggesting we need to hire a man with a flag to stand 5 yards in front of him?
If so, it might be something that Dobson could be good at. Because he's never going to be good at football

Playing the ball out, Dobson just lumps it chest height
People saying he was rubbish😂 He barely got a kick man and when he did he was playing with trash like mcfazdean scowen and dobson
Ha'way man, nee need for language like that.

I'm deffo not mis-remembering. Him and Scowen were the dripping shits.

He absolutely wasn't mind. He was asked to play a role totally unsuited for him (a Xaha role, if you will) when we should have been asking him to play box to box and get in and around the opposition's area (a Diarra role)

He isn't a bad player. Never has been. He was the right signing at the right time, used in the wrong way.
Ok Mrs Dobson

As a regular, I agree. Just look at how many people have slated O'Nien on here from League 1. He'd be found out in the Championship. He'll not be a regular in the Championship. He'll not be here last summer. He'll never play against a PL opponent.

Same posters last week wanted him starting in a back 3/5 on Saturday lunchtime.

Development isn't linear. I've said it for years.

He couldn't carry out the box to box role, he didn't have the fitness/ability to do it. He's clearly had a decent career at FL level.

Ba could of done anything what them 2 wingers we brought in , in January have done so far.

Know he gets slaughtered on here and he was a bit shite at times but other times he was alright. Mad that we've just give up on him

He couldn't, or he'd be in and around the squad. Nobody else seems to want to sign him either.

Anyone heard owt about this lad? Find it quite sad to be honest thinking about it...Club had enough faith in him to give him over 60 games for the club in the championship. He looked perpetually miserable though and obviously the fans never really took to him (would the the polite way of saying it) after his largely average to poor performances. After an absolute no impact loan to Ligue 2, now he's had only 45 minutes of u21s football all season. You have to wonder what becomes of his career now, if anything at all. I wonder if it was a case of moving country too young?
