PIF sports funding

I think the ideal scenario is that PIF continues to own them, but invests the bare minimum to keep them going. I honestly don't understand how an investment fund would see owning a football club as something they're going to get big returns on. Especially as we move further into a world where being self sustainable is the expectation.
It was never about making a profit.

If sport is under tourism and entertainment, that sounds more like the saudi boxing events and their own league. Getting people to visit saudi, rather than the mags over here.
Who in their right mind would want to holiday in Saudi Arabia -unless you're going to the Haj?

The ‘return’ on Newcastle has been huge and, in my opinion, exactly what toe long term plan / hope was.
They have the ear of FIFA and the World Cup. Job done. They would make a profit on the purchase price of the club. Probably wouldn’t get all the outlay back, of course. The delta, in the event they sold up would be worth it as a ‘purchase price’ for what they have now ‘achieved’. Sell up and sod off would be ideal now.
There definitely seems something to those rumours now they’re pulling back from golf. The situation over there won’t be helping but regardless of how insanely wealthy the state is there comes a time they’d have to pull back a bit from the mental money they’ve been tossing around sports. Like you say had the World Cup etc maybe yous have served your purpose. I guess you’ll know one way or another when it comes to the stadium. They’re unlikely to sink a couple of billion into a new stadium if they’re looking to move on in the next 18-24 months. If nowt continues to happen with the ground bar rumours etc I’d take that to mean they ain’t planning on being around much longer.

Balding wants ooot now.

I’d be f***ing furious if I were a mag. The cheek of the little shit, barely showed up all season now he’s out grown then 😂😂😂😂
He's sure got a very high opinion of himself.
He’s been absolutely shite bare a few cameo appearances in the champions league. Haha I’d be f***ing feeeeeewwwmin if I were a mag 😂

That article is a lot less bullish about their plans for our friends up the road than Ryder’s one last night.
I wonder if he’s been told he’s talking shite?

He was exactly the same at Everton

Just like he did at Everton to move to the mags.

I wonder if he'll go on strike again to force the move?

Unfortunately given how he acted to leave Everton the mags have little room to be upset at his current behaviour - they were warned but still celebrated his actions.

Oh dear!

It’s a honking attitude like, I could understand if he’d left them having had a great season and in the champions league, he’s been shite and they’ll be lucky to finish in the top half let alone Europe 😂
