We'd been talking to him already for a month apparently. I still think we looked at Guiu and knew he wasn't ready. We were already being linked to more strikers - it just opened up towards the deadline as it often does.

Sorry, your right. His debut was in June, signed for them in August, didn't score for Germany until October.

It was after he'd scored that I had the mag conversation. His call ups/starts all came because of injuries to the usual choices. The mag was adamant he was #1striker he wasn't and still isn't.
 
No one in World football is as good as Brobbey with his back to goal, loads are better facing the other way. Im not surprised the biggest teams are in for him.

They are all on good contracts, so we are in a good position to get big fees and any of them do want to move on.

As highlighted, the key word in your suggestion is 'IF'. And it is a big 'IF'. How many Roefs and Sadikis and Diarras and Brobbeys and Mukieles and Alderetes and Xhakas and Le Fees and Reinildos do you think are out there waiting to be found ? I would respectfully suggest that there is not an inexhaustible supply. And even if they are out there and are prepared to come to Sunderland, there is certainly no guarantee that they could be quickly molded into a cohesive team, as happened in the Summer.

We already have the majority of a good team, why break it up on the chance that we might get another good team ?

Im not advocating that we do, just that if we get pushed into it we've got the set up and would have the funds to make it recoverable and financially sound.
We've probably got a plan B,C & D by now .

They all came when we were apparently shite and nailed on to go down, I think we're a pretty attractive proposition now tbh, outside of the top six.
 
thing is..hes been at a 'big' club and dint have a good experience

we might just be a better environment for him at the minute

all the lads look like they have a good time playing and training..sometimes these young lads must feel a bit isolated, hes clearly coming out of his shell around the lads.
