1 point from Europe, 6 games to go

I genuinely hope you do it.

My grandad took me to Palace when I was a kid.

He saw play off final wins with me at Wembley, Cardiff and New Wembley. He would have loved seeing us get triangular corner flags.

Ideally though we need to just enjoy being in the Premier League and concentrate on survival as this would give us the money to strengthen our squad to the point where we can do what you guy’s do - bring in lots and lots of world class players to enable you to keep our squad fit and able to play on two fronts. We seem to get twice as many injuries as teams in Europe do yet play less than half of their games. Again this is where money from just staying up would help us enormously. We could spend some of the money appointing better fitness coaches.

At the moment we are years behind you lot. You are a club who is twice as big and twice as good as we are. We are nowhere near your level. A few more millions though will see us, and this is not intending to sound arrogant and pompous, achieve parity with you. I’d kill to be equally compared to Crystal Palace FC. I’d love that more than the league title and FA Cup in the same season.

But do I think we can do it this season? Possibly. Look at Nottingham Forest. They are in Europe and are 3 points away from a relegation spot. If it meant being 5th bottom and 3 points away from relegation then I’d take Europe right now, yes.

I agree with earlier comments. There is an argument to say we aren't ready for Europe etc *BUT* we might never have another season like this one. Nothing is set in stone so if we get the chance we have to take it.

3 wins (maybe even 2) as well as 1 or 2 draws from the last lot of games and we are there imho. If we lose 4 games we won't but but but but

Luke O'Nien's the lucky charm. He's next stop is CL... its gotta be haha

Do it for the Onion lads.

We all want to see him playing in Europe, it'd be the kind of thing you only ever imagine happening in a Disney movie

Not wanting to be negative nelly but Europe could ruin us next season as we don't have the strongest squad depth. Obvs want us to get massive but let's walk before we run

I've been in this camp as well, BUT, we flipped a script last summer regarding the same concerns for promoted teams so I am no longer taking it as a given it would derail our second season. I would put faith in the club in looking at it and building a capable squad to handle it.

Imagine, the last game of the season against Chelsea. If we win we go into the CLs and at the 89th minute O'Nien scores not just his winner, not just his first PL goal but the goal that puts us into Europe..

Imagine it.. his story is a movie.

Difficult run of fixture. To be honest, thank god we are not in the relegation battle.

I wish there's a "heart" emoji. I love that note.

I think with the players coming back from injury we could get anything between 4 and 8 points so maximum of 54 point s and minimum of 50.

Aston Villa - 1 point would be fantastic
Nottingham Forrest - night game at the SOL so 3 points
Wolves away - 3 points (hopefully they will be relegated by then so it may be a risky game
Manure - 1 point
Everton - 0 points - just going off historically what we get there.
Chelsea - 3 points - hopefully they will have asked another manager by then and will have nothing to play for either

Not sure either way it will be enough.

But a fantastic Season nevertheless

Can it go down to 9th
Yes, but it requires weird stuff. So it would only happen if villa and Liverpool won their european competitions and so got CL while also finishing 6th or 7th so their el spot drops down to 8th and the conference league spot drops to 9th.

It's not remotely likely.

Whereas 7th is definite and 8th is probable.

What an unbelievable season tbf. Who would have thought with 6 games to go we'd be in this position. We have a tough run in tbh with Villa, Manchester United, Chelsea and Everton all fighting for Europe and Forest fighting for their lives. Just too having these conversations is superb. Get me to the middle of nee where, to a place I can't spell on a Thursday neet 😂🍻🍻🍻

Wasnt convinced we'd be in with a chance but the break has allowed us to the get the star players like Mukiele, Roefs, Xhaka and Reinildo fit and ready for the run in improving our odds no end.

Don't want it. It would be bad for us.

If we were to qualify for Europe we would need another fantastic transfer window in the summer to keep us competitive but I trust our recruitment to deliver what is needed.

They will already be looking at possible scenarios and where we need to strengthen the squad. Surely the club have earned enough credit we can have faith in whatever comes next.

We’ve already secured safety. If you don’t strive to improve you go backwards, just ask Eddie Howe
As for other clubs struggling in the League when playing in Europe I agree it’s a concern.
However our club has proved its planning and squad management has been superb, and I would trust it to manage a good outcome if Europe was to come

Villa away next will be really tough. If we can nick a point then beat forest at home then it’s on.
If this was before Xmas you'd be right. Playing them after exertions in Europe on Thursday should be a big help too.

If Leeds win tonight then only Forest, Wolves, Burnley and Spurs have fewer points than them in 2026.

We've gained 2 more points than them and we've been playing with a decimated squad until yesterday
