Mukiele

Correct. Mukiele guts the headlines as he is a threat going forward with the way we set up, but defensively Reinildo is equally important.

Given our formula/approach those two, Brobbey and Xhaka are the key players.
Reinildo is a great FB but his red mist is a problem
Grabbing the ball in the area thinking he was fouled was stupidity
Play for the whistle FFS
He doeant need to do this

Only saw some of the game. When did he grab the ball in the area? And what was the outcome?

I remember seeing him play for the first time for us centre back against Huddersfield. I knew then he was going to be a tremendous player, even in that dismal game against shire opposition.

“We have a great team. Sunderland is a very big club and the target is now to push ourselves. We all want more. We don’t need motivation because we have it already. We just need to keep fighting and working to finish the season like we started.

“We are making our fans proud and that’s amazing.

“At the start of the season, nobody believed in us. Our work this season has meant people have to respect us, but we also need to stay humble.

“Our fans have been with us throughout this season, they have been incredible and I hope we can keep going together until the end.”

Shouldn't be within a million miles of us really.

Him, Xhaka and Reinildo are the 3 extraordinary, elite players in our side.

The amount of influence Mukiele at RB and Reinildo at LB have on us from full back positions is crazy.

Really is a pleasure to see players that good lining up for us.
Not anymore mate.
Last summer's recruitment was extraordinary.
Commentator today mentioned Alderete taking to the PL like a duck to water.... Xhaka apart, they've all taken to it without fear as a new league / country / culture and look the part.
There's also the fact they all look really close as a group, and that happened quickly.

This is where the pundit predictions about us at the beginning of the campaign was so lazy and lacking in any kind of knowledge outside of their Premier League bubble.

We signed players from Champions League and Europa League clubs from Germany, France, Spain and Belgium. Some of them with good experience at the peak of their career. A tough season was expected but the way most wrote us off as fodder wasn’t well thought out opinion.

Totally.

Forgot to mention in previous post, how the Championship boys - Ballard, Le Fee, Mayenda, Rigg, Isidor, Hume had a pivotal role in settling these lads in. Particularly Riggy (local boy) and Mayenda who look like fine ambassadors for what we're about.

“I have to say a big thank you to Granit because he explained to me everything, exactly what they wanted to do (at Sunderland). And it has happened. I made the decision to come here and I am proud and happy about it. He convinced me it was a good project. Exactly everything he’s said would happen, has happened.”

Xhaka practically forced a Champions League club to let him join Sunderland. He wouldn't do that for relegation battles, the plans are much bigger than that and Mukiele confirmed it in this interview 😎
