Could Leicester go bust?

Agree

Seen it many times first hand sadly

But yeah it’s a “the writing’s on the wall” moment (and not their first this season)
Tell me about it. Even in the 15 & 19 point seasons, there’d be matches where we were doing ok, then something like that Leicester goal would happen, a daft error from someone, the opposition would score & it’s all over. You can feel the hope & believe sucked into the sky.

Quite the opposite of what happens with us at the minute.

They went in to Adminstration about 25 years ago.

Amazing to think of their journey since.

The Stadium and Training ground would make it a decent investment should the debt be sorted.

The training ground apparently is haemorrhaging money for them massively, they still have Massive wage bill and owners who’s cash flow isn’t as big anymore
Not quite as all 20 teams voted for the rule change but that came into effect in 2019/20, 3 seasons later. It was first raised in 2017 with more money to higher finishing teams but the vote failed but Leicester were one of the ones agreeing with the original proposal before it eventually changed when all agreed in 2019/20 to a fairer split.

The new Overseas split was a base payment (£43.2m below) with some based on merit (Increase column below). Even so, it wasn't a huge change as winners Liverpool got £73.1m and 5th place Leicester got £67.1m.

Even recently, it's just over £800,000 per place with top getting £78.3m and 7th getting £71.3m

Leicester's downfall had nowt to do with that change, it's more they couldn't maintain the high spending and wages chasing the Champions League. They got close as they finished 5th in 2019/20 and 2020/21 and in both seasons they were top 3 for a long period. With just 2 games left in both, they 4th and 3rd buy twice they lost the last 2 games costing them Champions League places and big money.
When you read that it’s staggering tge money involved
Especially per league place, Kyril might be ringing Regis ‘No slacking off pal please’ 😂😂

You get a similar feeling to us when we did the double drop. A team full of half-arsed chancers and an ownership who've lost interest.
To be fair to their owners.. He died in the ground.. Can you blame them for not giving a shit since... Even so since then its been beyond tragic how badly their run. Their need sell up....
