Seems like everyone wants us to win on Sunday

Yeah. See I don’t hang round with bellend ones, we’re just decent lads, football fans, they support them, I and a few others support us, in unison we all want spurs down.
It would be quite funny to see Tottenham get relegated, but there isn’t a world I live in where I’d prefer Newcastle to win just to see it do damage to Tottenham. Unless the result directly affected Sunderland. Which in this case, it definitely does. Newcastle would rather see the team one point ahead of them in the league win, so they can see Tottenham potentially get relegated, rather than overtake the team ahead of them when potentially a place in Europe is still on?!

Sorry like, these Mags are f***ing stupid.
Aye mags at graft yesterday want us to turn Spurs over
See my post. We’re one point ahead of them & they want us to win? Arsenal supporters will be cheering on Man City next & Tottenham we’re cheering West Ham’s goals yesterday

Well they aren’t stupid, far from it tbh. Season tickets holders for years and theyre really fed up with how their seasons gone, just wanting the summer to come now. We have amazing football crack in our WhatsApp group and we all want spurs to go down.

Mags and Scabs at work both want the lads to win.
Working in London this week, was talking to some West Ham fans who are right behind us this weekend, they were extremely complimentary about our return to the top flight and congratulated us for reestablishing ourselves as the Premier North East club.

You can understand why I’m confused. Newcastle supporters who want the teams around them to pick up more points at the detriment of their team’s league position when there’s 7 games left to get into a European competition?

Yes I get your totally but to call my mates fuckin stupid I don’t get at all. They’re aren’t your typical mags, they mock them as much as we do and they’re just normal football fans who support their team. I’d take a massive punt and guess about 80% of football fans want spurs down so it’s hardly going to be likely that every single mag wants us to lose tomorrow, after the season they’ve had, as the possibility of spurs going down becomes a reality, I dare say in a few weeks if the league table was similar and they played spurs I’d probably want the mags to win that too.

Again we have to blot out any wider issues that others may want to put on it. It’s all about us and whether or not we have the ability to beat Tottenham Hotspur when we don’t have their experience or quality. They have some big names playing for them and over the years have had big names who’ve helped them to never be relegated in the history of the Premier League. They won’t be easy to beat. This is still a massive club. What anyone else thinks is irrelevant.

Maybe I just support my team before wanting to see other teams do bad. As I said, it’d be quite funny to see Tottenham get relegated, but none of the results to make that happen should be at a detriment to Sunderland.

It isn’t at a detriment to Sunderland. I mean it’s perfectly feasible that (for example) the mags could beat spurs to send them nearer the championship on the same weekend we beat Crystal Palace. My mag mates don’t want us to win and them to lose, they want them to win first and foremost but if they win and we beat spurs then they’re happy with that.

We’ll have to agree to disagree on this. For Newcastle to successfully progress in the league, they need to get more points than the teams around them. Wanting the teams around them to win doesn’t help them move up the league.

I’m not that arsed if Newcastle win as long as we’re not playing them.
I would like to see Tottenham lose every game til the end of the season regardless of who they’re playing.

Our final place in the league & potentially qualifying for a European place hugely depends on us finishing above teams like Newcastle. Apart from tomorrow, Tottenham beating other teams, like Brighton & Everton, will only help Sunderland.
