7 games left. How do we use them?

My problem with our tactics is we rely too much on the counter attack. In many cases that's fine, but in the typical game where you are playing at home and have to break down the opposition we need to improve our attacking options. Just look at the match threads and you will see it's a big viewpoint shared inwardly by the vast majority.
Attacking and opening up sides with a low block is very difficult - even City and Arsenal find it hard. However, it is something we have to work on and improve.
That is not your only problem and to say daft things like this at length is why you started this thread.

For shame.

So the OP stance is

- we don't have a hope of getting into Europe this season
- we should sacrifice points this season in order to experiment to improve our chances of success next season
- if we don't experiment now we stand still, and in standing still will go down
- if we get into Europe (we wont, remember, we dont have a hope) we will go close to getting relegated

Dreading the rest of this season and next now ffs :(

And nearly get relegated in the process.
Not necessarily, West Ham won it and finished 14th, Palace are in it this year and are 10 points clear, Chelsea won it last year and improved on their previous season. It's far from being what you suggest it is, reserves could get you through the group stage.

Do we try to get as many points as possible or shall we use them to try out new formations and tactics with a view to next year?
Personally I would try to try out new tactics to improve our attacking threat. We can't stand still and repeat tactics. People find you out and will find it easier to annul you. Standing still is going backwards.
I am amazed by our results this season - but there can be no let up - this league is relentless - Forest are an example - they are a good side with one world class player and a lot of excellent players - and still relatively in danger of relegation.
Mate , each position in the premier is worth about 2.6 million.....you try and get as high as you can without pissing about. The difference between 10th and 16th is nigh on 15 million.

Fair point. But you can waste that, or double if you don't have a clear idea of your needs ( and identify correctly the players to answer them).
