Not so sure about that tbh. You dont just pick your best eleven and shoe horn them in, disregard systems etc. Not saying he's nailed in, but there's a legitimate argument he does get in our best team currently. It's a bit of an odd one as he's almost certainly not in the first XI if everyone is fit, and yet he has undeniably been such an asset this season.
Couple of hundred grand wasn't it?He's been a fabulous signing for us..
Mukiele - Ballard - Alderete - Reinildo is our strongest back line imoNot so sure about that tbh. You dont just pick your best eleven and shoe horn them in, disregard systems etc. Not saying he's nailed in, but there's a legitimate argument he does get in our best team currently.
On paper that is definitely best back 4. But with Hume in the eleven it releases Mukiele (one of our best outlets) and also allows us to take up a 5 at the back too.Mukiele - Ballard - Alderete - Reinildo is our strongest back line imo
Hume wouldn't make my first XI, but it's so rare for the entire team to be fit, he's basically first in if anybody can't play
If I had £1 for every time I've made this point i a match thread I'd have more money than Sunderland have seasons unbeaten against Newcastlealso allows us to take up a 5 at the back too.

I think he’d be a cracking right-sided centre half, as he has been for Northern Ireland. Could save us a fortune. As much as I think he was awful in midfield and not great at LB, fair play to the lad, it is one hell of a job to fill in at a new position in your first Season in the PL and most would have did far worse.
Imagine thinking anyone said that, daft arseOver mukiele? Behave![]()
He could do a absolutely do a job certainly. Find it odd that someone thinks he's been 'awful' right side of midfield tbh. I don't think he's been awful at all. In any position. I will say he had a stinker at West Ham, as a one off game. Along with the rest of them.I think he’d be a cracking right-sided centre half, as he has been for Northern Ireland. Is there a better right back than Mukiele in the Premier League?Imagine thinking anyone said that, daft arse. Mentioning Humes inclusion releases Mukiele means Hume is in instead of him? Behave
Edit. I mean I've even agreed with someone else who has Mukiele in our best back four. Obviously![]()
Don't think I watch enough live games to fully commit, but nothing obvious springs immediately to mind. Sure others will have different ideas. Perhaps those occupying positions at the top 3 or 4?Is there a better right back than Mukiele in the Premier League?
I'm not convinced Hume can do that midfield hybrid role tbh. I think he'd be great right side of a back three.Imagine thinking anyone said that, daft arse. Mentioning Humes inclusion releases Mukiele means Hume is in instead of him? Behave

And you're entitled to that opinion sir. I think he's done it well for the most part. As we progress, and look to get the balance between attack and defence more even I can see more argument for him not making the 11. As it stands, Mukiele is one of the biggest threats going forward, and I think Hume is pivotal to that. I also like the fact with him there we can easily shift to a competent back 5 system. As you say, he can play as part of back three. But that depends on the manager set up/approach. I think it's conclusive he certainly gives options and flexibility. Very good player type to have.I'm not convinced Hume can do that midfield hybrid role tbh. I think he'd be great right side of a back three.
I think he plays there for N.I. on occasion. With Bradley to his right and Ballard to his leftI'm not convinced Hume can do that midfield hybrid role tbh. I think he'd be great right side of a back three.
I understand the flexibility he offered the team in that position, what I couldnt understand is how he was better suited to it than geertruida. The role he was playing required him to move into midfield at times and exposed his ability on the ball, yet we've a dutch international in his usual position, who is far better on the ball and has also played at the top level in centre midfield on the bench. If I had £1 for every time I've made this point i a match thread I'd have more money than Sunderland have seasons unbeaten against Newcastle
Says it all he was given 5 year deal in the summer before even Ballard.
