Mags selling their stadium to themselves

Downie on Sky desperately putting a positive spin on the financial results saying the need a bit more as they want to be competing with likes of Man Utd City and Arsenal. He’s putting them above Liverpool and Chelsea !! What an utter cockwomble he is and Sky lap it up

Maybe if Eddie's brother in law and nephew hadn't been allowed to essentially set fire to £200m last summer......

"PZ Newco Holdings Limited (PZNH) was incorporated in the UK on June 5, 2025 and is, like Newcastle United, wholly-owned by PZ Newco Limited, the UK-registered investment vehicle majority-owned by PIF. On June 27, three days before the club’s accounting year end, PZNH purchased ‘leasehold improvements at St James’ Park’ for £172.1m, generating £129m profit in Newcastle’s books. That comprises the stadium structure; the land St James’ Park sits on is managed by the Freemen of Newcastle, and is not owned by the club."

Sold their ground and they don't even own the land it sits on, that'll be a big issue for them in the future.
Its like selling a council house when they don't own it🤣

This is the problem. The likes of Downie compare them to clubs way ahead of them and it builds expectations. That always bites them on the backside

You dont hear it from other clubs. No one at Palace goes on like that, and theyve won a more prestigious trophy in recent times

It looks to me that they've used the only ace that was up their sleeve to buy Wissa, Woltemade, Elanga etc

These cunning plans don't seem to be going too well for the Werld's Richest Klerb

Ah well
Long may it continue

Its stupid really that clubs can do this to get around PSR but I've been saying for ages that Newcastle are rubbish at manipulating PSR, this stadium sale is just what Chelsea etc would of done ages ago.

If it's the clip I saw, he doesn't even mention the stadium sale. Just states that they made a profit.

On this stadium sale trick, has it just been done to put them back in the black. Was there potential to inflate the sale figure putting them in a much stronger position for next season, but decided not to?

I think they would have had PSR sanctions if they didn't

It’s very clear why they have done it which is to keep ahead of PSR and to be able to buy some players. I would imagine the owners are really chuffed with Eddie Howe who let’s be honest alongside his nephew has blown something like 200 million English pounds on absolute crap. This sale is to cover the losses their hopeless manager has cost them.

I dont think this is PSR. That changes soon. This is exit strategy.

PIF now own two unique entities. The club and the stadium.

They can sell them independently. If they flog NUFC they can demand rent from new owners. Plus it means they can separate income from events/concerts from the loss making football side of the business

If new (football side) owners decide they want a new ground, PIF have the lease to prime real estate and partners in the Reubens who develop exactly that.

PIF cant lose.

This is not a good deal for football fans.

Ok... absolute conspiracy and I have no knowledge of the legalities of this.

Could this be PIF exit strategy? Sell stadium to a firm that they own, get the physical asset then sell the club.

New owners then need a new ground or pay a lease to a PIF owned firm or need to fork out for a new one? If they opt for a new one, PIF own a prime plot of land to sell on

Pretty sure thats what happened at Darlington
They don't own the land

All of this is true

It’ll end up like Coventry did

When you read that bit it’s actually the way smart clubs try to do business. Buy well sell well, unless your Real Madrid etc your gonna have to sell at some point the fact they can’t get their heads around that is baffling. The funny thing is though they spunked most of that great transfer fee from the puuaaaaa raaaat on shite like Wissa I won’t count elanga and wolta just yet as they’re younger players but £50mnon Wissa is dead money buying a 29 year old. If they were well run they’d have made way better strides on the 750m they’ve spent yet here they are 12 th in the league out of everything and having to sell their stadium to make the books look better. If they hadn’t they’d have fell foul to breaching the rules 🤣🤣🤣

They have well they’ve sold the lease hold of I’ve read rightly. So now don’t own the land it’s built on as that’s freemans and now the leasehold of the stadium has been sold so they don’t own that either technically. But they’ve sold it to another pif business so just shifted it around in reality. But if shit went south then Saudi could be right buggers.
so they are copying our model then
