World Cup


Got very little interest and never watched any of the Qatar WC. Since it stopped being a 32 team tournament held in a single country it’s lost its appeal for me. Like most modern football it’s driven by commercial greed and generally low on quality.
 
If England win the group we will play the 1st knockout game on the Sunday night of the British Grand Prix , will be great watching it at Silverstone after rag n bone man.

Hopefully it's not too late a kick off, it's in Mexico city I believe.

It's really common for people from. The north east to specifically refer to the Scottish people as Scotch and is in no way meant to be derogatory, and in fact may even be endearing.
 
Was thinking it'll be a waste of time given ko times, but just looking there and it's not as bad as I thougt. All the England group games are doable.

Might be too many games to stay interesed like - part of the fun is watching most of them.

Don't get the whinging about Trump mind. They've had tournaments in Russia, Qatar, Ukraine, South Africa, Brazil, but most people haven't batted an eyelid. Too much tick tock I think
 
I’m not excited for it but I will watch it, better than waiting 3 months with nowt til the season starts.
 
Too many teams, the group stages will be dreadful, shite kick off times as well, I’ll still be watching which games I can like.
 
I wasn’t very excited to start with. The extra teams would have been great if it included Wales and RoI.
Living in the west coast time zone the kick offs are brilliant for me.

But I just cant get excited. It feels flat and fake

I think this is the weakest we’ve been in a long time.
Our defence is a poor. We have a lot of attacking options but today’s game doesn’t seem to play that way. So ill

Last one was really good due to the 32 teams and last group games being loads of jeopardy. They managed to ruin the whole thing with more teams. Even f***ing Scotland will struggle to get knocked out in the group stages.
 
Wonder if we'll ever have a single European hosted, 32 team wc ever again? It used to be sublime. The pinnacle of everything and worth the 4 year wait. It peaked in late 90s / early 00s but like everything else it's just gone gradually sh*tter.

I'll half watch it if I'm in and need some background noise or something to pass the time. Like most football these days tbh. Can't remember the last time I properly watched a game on TV.
 
Too many group games and the crap kick off times won't help. Can't see many people in the UK staying up until 3am to watch Uzbekistan v Colombia
 
Not arsed at the moment but I’ll be fairly excited when it starts.

I’m actually very excited about collecting the Panini stickers, they get released in a few days time.

Same here, may record a few to watch next day if they are daft times, but even then may not even bother if the result is a drab 1-0 win.
