F1 2026

I like them. You can watch with breakfast and your whole Sunday afternoon isn't gone.
Not as easy when you have a 4 year old who wants to watch Aladdin for the 1000th time. I usually have to wait until she goes to bed at 7pm if I want to watch it in peace. Going until then without seeing the result is near impossible, if it’s on 2pm until 4pm then I stand a chance

Talk of Merc running an illegal front wing which closes from straight mode in double the time limit

Imagine if they get Dq’d from the first two races 🤣

The FIA puts the magnifying glass on Mercedes' active aerodynamics. 📑🕵🏼‍♂️

🏎️ The system adjusts the wings according to the speed and type of curve.

🏆 The goal? Total stability under braking.

I’ve watched it three times and can’t see any difference.

Cam someone explain it please?
The front wing is closing from straightline mode in 2 stages, I believe its meant to be closed in 4 tenths of a second and there’s timings doubling that and as people have suggested/theorised its allowing an illegal control of speed and airflow.

That’s just too complex for my simple mind.

f1 is a mess technically.

I thought they were trying to attract viewers.

I don't think many people care about this type of stuff tbh, its only the geeks like us who talk about it.
There's always been technical challenges in F1. Do I need to say "fan car" ?

Fantastic. Bernie at his cheating best.

And don’t forget Colin Chapman and the Lotus that had water tanks next to the brake disks to “cool them”. They just pumped the water out on the formationan lap and the car was lighter.

In parc ferme the car was weighed complete with all fluids topped up so Colin got a lighter race car.

I remember getting up at 4am or 5am to watch Senna and Prost crash out on the first corner
I used to get up for all of them in the noughties. Even stayed up to watch Fisichella win in Melbourne in 2005(!), but if I don't get enough sleep nowadays it ruins the day!

"This is fantastic".

Nah, its not all that great actually Murray, I've knackered me whole day to watch this man!
I remember the picture quality abroad was poor back in them days
Except Japan, who had basically HD resolution back in the 80/90s on their public analogue telly.

Cheating bastards. Engine is illegal too

The wings are supposed to open/close in 0.4 of a second. Mercs have been closing theirs in 0.8 second. Allowing them a millisecond of advantage in every corner. Times that by x laps and you have a substantial advantage. Add their dodgy engine to the mix and in short they're cheating bastards.
