Woltemade wants away

Incredible that like. Pretending that he couldn't make it to the stadium as he has "mumps", like a kid crying off PE in the 80s.

And then Tonali turns up, but refuses to wear club gear.

Using the derby as a shop window. You absolutely love to see it.
Wasn't even aware of either of those 2 things.

They could genuinely be in serious bother next season.

Bruno and Tonali are definitely off.

Livramento is nailed on for City apparently, and you have to assume that Woltemade and Wissa will demand moves given that Howe doesn't rate either of them in their natural position. Gordon's ego will demand Champions League football, and after that you're down to an extremely shaky first 11. The likes of Willock, Ramsdale and Trippier wouldn't get in many other Premier League team's first X1s.

They'll have a very weak hand in the transfer market. Best they can hope for is to sell quickly and reinvest, but based on last summer they're inclined to waste time playing silly buggers because they refuse to accept their place in the pecking order.

And if the summer doesn't get off on a positive note, I'm sure the likes of Lewis Hall will be getting onto his agent too.

The PIF project is dead in the water - it started with the Isak saga and yesterday delivered the killer blow. Only question now if PIF can be bothered to go again. And I'm not sure if sportswashing sits at the top of your To Do list at a time when the Iranians are launching missiles at your oil fields.

Difficult to see Howe being there next season, and they'll have to overhaul their entire recruitment team in the process as they've given him a ridiculous amount of power over their transfer strategy.

From the outside looking in they seem to have all the ingredients to have an almighty collapse over the next few years.

They tried to get him in the summer but wouldn't pay the money Stuttgart were looking for - Woltemade himself has spoke about it.

You could see him going on strike if they start sniffing around again. One of many delicious transfer sagas that lay ahead for the mags this summer.

After seeing him at the skunks they'll not be bothering.

Never thought of it like that for Tonali. Did his 'look at me' walk into the stadium then as far as I could see was never seen on camera again.

What was his injury? Didn't even make the bench did he?

if you combine the best attributes of Woltemade with the best attributes of Wissa you may have a player as good as Igor Thiago. Thankfully Thiago has only shown how good he is AFTER they spunked over 120 million on them 2!

Missed the Chelsea game through "illness". Back for the Barcelona game, but went off injured just after Barca went 4-2 up - looked very innocuous, groin injury apparently.

Turned up yesterday by himself, not wearing a club tracksuit like everyone else. Too injured to play in the derby, but is travelling to meet up with the Italy squad ahead of their World Cup play offs against Northern Ireland. As a comparison, Dan Ballard missed the derby and will miss that game too.

Seems most likely that Tonali is picking and choosing the games that put him in the best frame for a move away.

They are literally back to square one

He's not a good Premier League player. That's not to say he never will be, but I doubt he'll ever be given the time & patience to develop into one in that powder keg environment with their obsession with "number 9s" & managers desperate for results.

A few of our lot wet the bed when he had that early scoring spurt, but he was found out very quickly after that & doesn't seem to have recovered psychlogically from the first derby.

The strange thing is after the derby debacle in December, he scored a brace against Chelsea in the very next game to bounce back somewhat but has then since gone to complete shite.

It's like he had a delayed psychological reaction by a week

He's been a very poor signing for them. Doesn't have the physical attributes to work as a striker, certainly not for them and Howe's high-energy style. Seems very strange that Howe is taking charge of the transfer business and yet is signing exactly the wrong type of player to suit them. Perhaps the idea was/is that he plays like a Kane in a false 9 and other players do the running beyond him but they don't really play with a no.10 and it still leaves them unable to properly press. He is nowhere near as dynamic as Isak was. In fact, I have Mag mates who were crying out to have Brobbey even before the derby game. He is everything Woltemade is not.

He had half a good season in Germany for Schalke after being picked up on a free the season before that because he'd scored 2 goals in 51 appearances for Bremen. Newcastle then spent 70m on the guy. Let that sink in. Part of me wonders if Howe goes off youtube compilations and stats from 6 months of football...

This is the problem with buying someone off the back of a good 6 months. Despite everything he's probably still one of their slightly better players

£124m on strikers and they play one in midfield and bring the other on for 7 minutes. It's PSR that's the problem though...
